Suwon wall-walk café with walnut chestnut ciabatta: Caffeine Focus
In short
Caffeine Focus is a bakery café with Hwaseong Fortress wall views on Changnyong-daero in Paldal-gu, Suwon, with seating spread across three floors. Stopping midway through a walk along the fortress wall path, the writer took a 3rd-floor window seat for an ube cream matcha latte (7,500 won), an iced americano (5,500 won) and the new autumn walnut candied chestnut buckwheat ciabatta (6,500 won). The cold-fermented sourdough ciabatta tasted clean and mild and went well with coffee, making Caffeine Focus a good pause in a Hwaseong Fortress date course.

Came out to Hwaseong Fortress with my boyfriend~ After walking the fortress wall path, we stopped to rest at Caffeine Focus, a café with a Hwaseong Fortress view. Enjoying cool, delicious drinks and desserts with such a great view felt amazing.
This place is a classic ciabatta spot — long, slow-fermented sourdough with great chewiness and flavor! Highly recommend as a Hwaseong Fortress date course stop. Here's my piping-hot review~
Where is Caffeine Focus in Suwon, and where can you park?

Caffeine Focus is at 15 Changnyong-daero80beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si. Open 11:00–20:00, closed every Tuesday. Nearby public parking is recommended, and the parking line in front of the shop can be used from 8am to 6pm.

A ciabatta spot that bakes fresh every morning! There's no dedicated lot, but you can park along the line by the Hwaseong Fortress wall path in front of the building.

After 6pm, those spots become resident parking, so note that you can only park there between 8am and 6pm. I parked at the nearby public lot and walked over instead.
Floors 1 to 3 at Caffeine Focus: the mood and fortress view on each level
You can freely move between the 1st and 3rd floors of Caffeine Focus. Each floor has its own charm! If you want the wide-open fortress view, I recommend heading up~
1st floor: ordering and pickup

You order and pick up on the 1st floor.
2nd floor: partial fortress view with a high chair

A cozy L-shaped 2nd floor. These are semi fortress-view seats~ There's a baby chair on this floor.
Best wide-open fortress view: the 3rd floor
The floor-to-ceiling window view is best from the 3rd floor, I think! I picked the 3rd floor.
The 3rd-floor terrace

On the terrace you can enjoy your drink while looking out at Paldalsan, Suwon's signature mountain~ They say it's especially beautiful at sunset, so keep that in mind!
Caffeine Focus menu: ciabatta is sold even on Wednesdays

Plenty of drinks to order to your taste: coffee, non-coffee, signature drinks, smoothies, ades, teas and more!

Good to pair with drinks: Basque cheesecake, egg scones, muffins, and ciabatta are all available.
Caffeine Focus is especially known for slow-fermented sourdough ciabatta! Every Wednesday is a bread-free day, but they still sell the ciabatta~ Ciabatta lovers, save this one!
What we ordered: ube cream matcha latte, iced americano and walnut chestnut buckwheat ciabatta
I ordered the ube cream matcha latte for ₩7,500, iced americano for ₩5,500, and the walnut candied chestnut buckwheat ciabatta for ₩6,500.

I ordered Caffeine Focus's signature ube cream matcha latte, iced americano, and the new autumn walnut candied chestnut buckwheat ciabatta. After pickup, I headed up to the 3rd floor.

Time to heal while staring out at the wide-open view!

Of course drinks and ciabatta taste like honey when you're in a cool café looking out at the wide-open Hwaseong Fortress view!

The americano was cool and nutty and delicious too

Also highly recommend the ube cream matcha latte topped with sweet ube cream~ Not overly sweet, so it paired really well with the plain-tasting ciabatta.
How does the walnut candied chestnut buckwheat ciabatta taste?

The nutty, plain flavor of the walnuts combined with sweet candied chestnut for a nice balance. The buckwheat's distinct toasty aroma blended with the chewy yet plain texture of the ciabatta, and biting into the walnuts and chestnuts here and there added a mild sweetness and nuttiness. Plain but not boring — a bread that goes really well with coffee.

After recharging with drinks and bread! Back to walking the Hwaseong Fortress wall path! Today's course was so good~
Final verdict on Caffeine Focus
Caffeine Focus was great for resting alone with a leisurely view, and just as good for dates or group gatherings. Save it as a Hwaseong Fortress view café, a Suwon sourdough ciabatta spot, and a Hwaseong Fortress bakery café you must visit.
