Lately when I eat out, I've noticed that a full table setting — rice, soup, and side dishes all served neatly together — feels way more satisfying than just getting one dish on a plate. While looking for somewhere to eat in Ingye-dong, I found Gyewondang Ingye Branch, where you can get pork cutlet and chicken thigh steak served as a full table spread!

The whole place has a wood-toned, retro vibe that reminds me of old-school Western-style diners, and the menu was surprisingly varied — pork cutlet, handmade chicken cutlet, chicken steaki, curry, and hot pot sets. It was hearty and totally my style, so I left full and happy~
How to find Gyewondang Ingye Branch, and where to park

Gyewondang Ingye Branch is near Suwon City Hall Station. If you're coming by subway, exit through Exit 7 and walk about 500m toward the Homeplus alley — it's next to Forest Pho at the end of the alley!
It was also convenient by car, since free parking is available in the building's underground lot! If there's no spot underground, you can just ask the staff and they'll guide you to park in front of the store.
Also, roadside parking is allowed during lunch hours, 11:30–14:30, so if you're visiting for lunch, using the street might actually be more convenient haha. If you're coming with a pet, you can enter as long as they're in a carrier or stroller — just FYI!
A 1980s Korean house look: retro Western-style dining room

Walking into Gyewondang Ingye Branch, the whole space has a wood-toned, retro atmosphere. It's a totally different feel from the super-modern restaurants you see these days — more like an old Western-style house or diner.

Gyewondang itself is built around reinterpreting the warm 1980s Western-diner atmosphere and neat table-spread style in a modern way, so the concept came through consistently from how the food is served to the interior design haha.

Even though it's a cutlet restaurant, the food doesn't just come out on a single plate — the standout feature is that each person gets a full spread with a main dish + rice + soup + salad + seasonal side dishes. It felt comfortable whether you're eating alone, grabbing a work lunch, or coming with family.
Gyewondang menu and prices

The menu at Gyewondang was more varied than I expected, and the value is pretty good too! The signature Gyewon Chicken Cutlet is ₩12,500, made with a whole chicken thigh cutlet, and there's also the Fried Chicken Steak for ₩12,500 and the Handmade Pork Loin Cutlet for ₩12,000.
I ordered the Gyewon Set. It's an assorted-cutlet-style set menu where you get the Gyewon Chicken Cutlet, Fried Chicken Steak, and pork cutlet all at once. If you're torn between menu items, this is a great one-stop order that lets you try a bit of everything haha.

There were quite a few chicken steaki set options too — Miso Crispy Steaki Set for ₩13,000, Grilled Salt Steaki Set for ₩12,500, Buldak Grilled Steaki Set for ₩12,500, and more~ I went with the Grilled Salt Steaki Set for ₩12,500. If you prefer soup-based dishes, there's also the Gyewon Sundubu Set, Nourishing Chicken Soup Set, Boneless Yeoldori Set, and more. There are hot pot dishes too, and quite a variety of curry options.

There are also curry sets topped with chicken steak, chicken cutlet, or pork loin cutlet, so if you want something other than a straight-up cutlet, there are plenty of options!
Gyewon Set and grilled salt steak set: a table for two, filled

With the Gyewon Set and Grilled Salt Steaki Set laid out together, the table was seriously packed! First, the Gyewon Set lets you try all of Gyewondang's signature dishes at once.

The Gyewon Chicken Cutlet in particular uses a whole chicken thigh, so the meat inside is really moist!

Instead of the dry texture you get with chicken breast, you really feel the juiciness inside as you chew, plus that soft, tender texture that's unique to chicken thigh. The outside has a crispy breading, so the crispy-outside-juicy-inside combo was great.
The Gyewon Chicken Cutlet is shaped like a donut with a hollow center, which means less of the breading gets soggy, so you can keep it crispy all the way through — a nice touch.
The Fried Chicken Steak that comes with it also uses chicken thigh, so the meat was soft and juicy. Compared to the chicken cutlet, it has a bit more of that savory, salty flavor from the chicken itself, so even though both are chicken thigh dishes, switching between them made the flavors feel different, which I liked!

The pork cutlet was included too, so you can also enjoy the thick, chewy bite that's unique to pork cutlet. If you eat just one type of cutlet, you might get a little tired of it partway through, but with several kinds, I could keep switching it up.

What does the grilled salt chicken thigh steak taste like?
And then the Grilled Salt Steaki Set — it was even better than I expected! A thick chicken thigh steak is piled generously on top of bean sprouts and vegetables. The chicken surface was grilled to a nice golden brown, and the moment you take a bite, a subtle char-grilled aroma comes through — really tasty.

It's seasoned with salt, so it's not overly sweet or spicy — you really taste the natural savory flavor and juiciness of the chicken thigh! The skin side is chewy with a slight crispness, and the meat inside is completely soft and moist.

The bean sprouts underneath also soak up a bit of the chicken juices and sauce, so eating them together gives a nice crunch~ Topping a bite of meat with some bean sprouts made the texture even better and cut through the richness, so I kept going back for more haha.
Who should try this Ingye-dong cutlet table setting?

I visited Gyewondang while looking for a place in Ingye-dong, Suwon, where I could eat a hearty full table spread! I liked how varied the menu was, from pork cutlet, handmade chicken cutlet, and chicken steaki to soup-based dishes and curry. The Gyewon Set lets you try several kinds of cutlets at once, so it's especially good for anyone torn over what to order.
Overall, the neat table setting made it feel like more of a proper, hearty meal rather than just grabbing a bite. If you're looking for a cutlet restaurant in Ingye-dong, Suwon, I'd recommend Gyewondang Ingye for its handmade chicken cutlet!
