Songpa Korean BBQ open until 1am with valet parking: Sutbul Seonghwa
In short
Sutbul Seonghwa is a charcoal-grilled Korean beef restaurant on Songnidan-gil near Seokchon Station in Songpa, Seoul. On a spur-of-the-moment dinner after work, the writer and a friend grilled the Seonghwa mixed platter (seonghwa sirloin and seasoned rib finger) over charcoal, and the shiitake mushroom truffle braise was the side that stood out most. With valet parking, its own lot and service until 1am, Sutbul Seonghwa works just as well for late dinners as for first dates or formal family meetings.

If you're looking for a Korean BBQ spot near Seokchon Station, Sutbul Seonghwa on Songnidan-gil is a great pick for a date, too!
I met up with a friend after work for a spontaneous dinner around Songnidan-gil in Jamsil~ I'd been pretty stressed lately... and had things to talk about with my friend, so we figured since we're eating anyway, let's eat something good!! That's how we landed on Sutbul Seonghwa near Seokchon Station.
There are plenty of Korean BBQ places near Seokchon Station, but honestly, it's hard to find one this clean and polished, where you really feel taken care of...! Let me walk you through Sutbul Seonghwa in detail.

Where is Sutbul Seonghwa, and what about parking and weekday lunch?
Sutbul Seonghwa, a beloved Korean BBQ spot on Songnidan-gil near Seokchon Station, is really close to the Seokchon Lake café street, and it's also easy to get to from Seokchon Station itself — great for a bite after a date by the lake, a get-together with friends, a drink after work for local office workers, or even a date or family meeting for a marriage introduction in Jamsil! Both parking and valet parking are provided, and since there's a separate lot, it's a great place to avoid the usual parking headaches on Songnidan-gil :)
They also have a dedicated weekday lunch menu — everything from doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) to yukhoe bibimbap, galbitang, and a rib set — so it seems like a great option to stop by on a weekday lunch, too! Office workers in the area should definitely check it out.
How late does Sutbul Seonghwa stay open?
Located near Songnidan-gil, Sutbul Seonghwa is open every day of the year from 11am to 1am, with last order at midnight. Since it stays open late into the evening, this is a great choice for company dinners near Jamsil Station and Seokchon Station on any special occasion, haha. It also seems like a lovely idea to grab some delicious beef with your partner after a date at Lotte World.

Inside Sutbul Seonghwa: private rooms for dates and family meetings
The interior of Sutbul Seonghwa is made up of bar-table seats and 4-person tables, giving off a calm yet distinctly upscale vibe. It also has separate private rooms, so it seems perfect for a formal family meeting, a meal after an important business meeting, or even a date.

The aging fridge, the charcoal and the grill plate
The atmosphere is great, but of course what really matters is the taste. The raw beef is aged in an incredibly clean aging room! Vacuum-sealed without a speck of dust, with the temperature strictly controlled, the beef ages at just the right temperature — and it's proudly on display for everyone to see. That kind of openness says a lot about their confidence in the quality of the ingredients, right?

The fire comes from real charcoal, and it looked like they use really good-quality charcoal too. The grill plate isn't a disposable aluminum one either — it's a proper grill plate made for direct-fire grilling, so nothing sticks and everything cooks up deliciously. A variety of side dishes came out to enjoy alongside the meat.

Seonghwa mixed platter: seonghwa sirloin and seasoned rib finger
What we ordered was the seonghwa mixed platter (seonghwa sirloin and seasoned rib finger). The sirloin uses only the best cuts, sliced into perfectly bite-sized pieces, and the rib finger is what we'd usually know as galbisal (short rib meat). Rib finger is the meat attached to the bone once you remove the actual short rib from a bone-in rib cut — and as you know, meat closer to the bone tends to have more umami, better texture, and juicier bite~ Short ribs can be a bit too rich for some people to eat a lot of, but rib finger gives you all that short-rib flavor and chewy texture without being overwhelming. And on top of that, it comes seasoned too — need I say more, haha.

What sides come with the beef?
Wasabi, salt, and wholegrain mustard come as standard, along with myeong-i namul (wild garlic leaves), baek kimchi (white kimchi), minari (water celery), and various pickled vegetables. Since it's Korean beef, a bite dipped in just salt is already amazing, but I have to give props to the owner for putting together this variety of combinations to keep things interesting all the way through.

The staff grill the first round for you, and after that you grill it yourself — beautifully marbled beef sizzling over good charcoal~ Just watching it made me genuinely happy.

The sirloin practically melted away the moment it hit my mouth. I dipped it in wasabi, then in salt, tried it different ways, and kept going back for more. The juices burst in my mouth along with a wave of charcoal aroma — it was so good!

Seasoned rib finger with shiitake mushroom truffle braise
The seasoned rib finger had the seasoning soaked in perfectly — not too salty, not too sweet, just enough to support the meat's natural flavor. Good meat plus good skill made for such a happy bite~ I especially loved it eaten with rice, and also paired with the shiitake mushroom truffle side dish among the accompaniments! You all really need to try this mushroom braise together with the meat. It's genuinely a hidden gem...★
