Bakery café near AW Convention, Ansan: kabocha campagne, white roll

I was looking for somewhere in Ansan with good bread and coffee together, and that's how I ended up at Flowerpot. There are all kinds of bakery cafés these days, but finding one with lots of bread varieties and prices that don't sting is trickier than you'd think. The moment I walked into Flowerpot, all the different bakery items caught my eye — if you love bread, you'll have fun picking things out one by one!

An Ansan local friend recommended this bread spot, and it was better than expected, so I was very satisfied. A short walk from AW Convention after the ceremony

Flowerpot Cafe is right behind AW Convention, considered one of Ansan's four major wedding halls. I was in the area for a wedding there, and it was super easy to find.

Plenty of local residents come by, but a lot of guests from the AW Convention next door also stop in with friends and family to catch up after the ceremony.

There are sandwich-and-coffee set menus, so you can get a simple but satisfying brunch, and set options with injeolmi bingsu (shaved ice with soybean powder rice cake) or mango bingsu paired with coffee at a cheaper price were a nice touch too.

Does Flowerpot Cafe have seating for groups?

Flowerpot runs both a bakery and a café in one space, so it's a Gojan-dong bakery café where you can pick your bread and then relax with coffee. The interior overall is clean and comfortable, so it works whether you just want a coffee or want to pick out bread and desserts and take your time 👍 The space is also fairly spacious, so it would be good for a group visit too!

What kinds of bread does Flowerpot Cafe bake?

Walking in, the bakery display is the first thing that catches your eye, with a variety of bread beautifully arranged so you naturally end up examining each one.

When I visited, I spotted everything from basic salt bread and red bean bread to rolls and campagne that work well as a meal substitute 🥰

These days even a single item like salt bread comes in butter, anbutter, cream, and fruit combinations. At Flowerpot too, beyond the basic salt bread there's anbutter salt bread and even a distinctive mango wakppu salt bread, so if you love salt bread you can pick according to your taste 👍 Wakppu salt bread itself has been showing up a lot on social media lately, and adding mango to it made the look completely different from a regular salt bread.

The sandwiches were also packed so full of fresh fillings that the look alone was impressive. And with the iced Americano set priced at ₩10,800, it's affordable enough for a healthy, filling meal without any guilt!

There's a self-service packing station, which made it easy to box up leftover bread without hesitation, and a microwave so you can warm things up yourself.

Iced Americano, 4,500 won

When I drink coffee, I prefer beans that are nutty and balanced rather than sharply acidic, and Flowerpot's Americano was exactly that kind of feel. It wasn't a style with acidity jumping right up front, so it was relatively smooth and nutty to drink — the kind of coffee that's genuinely good without much room for dislike!

It was especially nice with buttery bread like the salt bread or anbutter — the coffee didn't get in the way of the bread's flavor and cleanly held its own alongside it. Personally, I'd recommend it as a well-balanced Americano that's easy for anyone to enjoy!

Kabocha (sweet pumpkin) campagne, 5,600 won

If you're after something a bit plainer, definitely try the kabocha (sweet pumpkin) campagne. Unlike snack-like items such as salt bread or red bean bread, campagne has a plain, savory character that works well as a meal substitute. Adding kabocha brought a subtle sweetness that made it easier to eat than a plain campagne, and it was a nice flavor change when ordering several kinds together.

White roll, 5,300 won

If you like soft bread, I'd recommend the white roll. It has a plain, fluffy texture that's easy to eat without any strong flavors, and it also worked well as a simple dessert alongside coffee.

Red bean bun, 2,500 won

You can't skip the red bean bread that you end up grabbing without thinking at any bakery café, right? The combination of soft bread and sweet red bean paste is a basic menu item anyone can enjoy comfortably. Especially when ordering several kinds of bread, picking a familiar one like this is also good for sharing with someone whose tastes differ from yours!

Salt bread, 2,900 won

Since this place is known for its salt bread, I tried the original first, and it had a plain style with a nutty butter flavor that went well with coffee. Above all, the size was generous, so eating just one salt bread left me feeling full, not shortchanged.

It has that distinctive salty taste that keeps you reaching for more when paired with an iced Americano — definitely worth trying.

Anbutter salt bread, 4,200 won

I also picked the anbutter salt bread, which adds red bean paste and butter to the salt bread. With sweet red bean paste and nutty butter added to the plain, salty salt bread, the flavor definitely became richer. If you like bread with sweetness, I think the anbutter version will satisfy you more than the basic salt bread, and it paired well with coffee too 👏

Is Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch worth a stop? Final verdict

What I liked most about this visit to Flowerpot is that it's less a café for just drinking coffee and more a bakery café where the fun is in picking through the variety of bread. If you love salt bread especially, there's the bonus of getting to enjoy an array of unusual versions, from the basic salt bread to anbutter and the more special mango wakppu salt bread.
