Jeonpo Chinese bar with Hong Kong egg noodles: Mirim Yangjang
In short
Mirim Yangjang Busan Main Branch is a Chinese bar and restaurant on Seojeon-ro near Jeonpo Station in Busan that dries and roasts its own Peking duck in house. Two of us ordered the half Peking duck and the Hong Kong-style stir-fried egg noodles: crisp skin and tender meat wrapped in thin wheat pancakes, with the bean-sprout noodles alongside. For Peking duck by the half bird in Jeonpo, Mirim Yangjang Busan Main Branch is the answer.

I wanted something special to eat in Jeonpo, so I went to Mirim Yangjang Busan Main Branch, a well-known Jeonpo restaurant.
I still remember how good the Peking duck I had in China was, so my expectations were high again this time. At Mirim Yangjang you can order Peking duck as a half portion, which is great for sharing with a friend.
I also ordered the Hong Kong-style stir-fried egg noodles, which I highly recommend — the combination worked really well and the meal was delicious.
Today I'm sharing my review of Mirim Yangjang Busan Main Branch for anyone who wants to enjoy Peking duck in Jeonpo :)

Where Mirim Yangjang is in Jeonpo, and what the building looks like
Mirim Yangjang Busan Main Branch is housed in a brick building, so it had atmosphere from the outside already. We visited right at opening time, and out front the staff had just taken the ducks out to prepare them.

Seeing the ducks hanging up gave the sense that this was a place seriously dedicated to making Peking duck, which raised my expectations for the food even more.
Peking duck is a dish where the cooking process really matters, right? Watching them prepare it firsthand made me even more curious about how it would taste.

For reference, Naver Reservations is available, so if you're planning to visit, it might be worth checking reservation availability in advance.
The entrance: a small door on the left side of the building
One thing that was a bit tricky the first time I visited Mirim Yangjang Busan Main Branch was finding the entrance.

We wandered around for a bit looking for the door, and it turned out there's a small entrance on the left side of the building.
If you're visiting for the first time, don't just glance at the building's facade and walk past — check the entrance on the left side. Keep this in mind so you don't get confused like we did :)
Inside the dimly lit Chinese dining room
Inside, the space is made up of counter seats and table seats. The lighting is on the dim side overall, which gave it a calm yet atmospheric feel.

It's a different vibe from a typical bright, cheerful restaurant, so it seemed like a great spot when you want to enjoy a special meal in Jeonpo.
We ate at a table seat, and while looking around the interior, we got to enjoy the atmosphere of the space alongside the food.

When trying a dish you don't eat often, like Peking duck, I think this kind of atmosphere becomes part of the fun of the meal.
How QR ordering works at the table
At Mirim Yangjang Busan Main Branch, you order through a QR code at the table. There were lots of menu options available, and we picked mainly around the Peking duck we'd come for.

Here's what we ordered — two dishes.
- Half Peking duck
- Hong Kong-style stir-fried egg noodles
We ordered the Peking duck as a half portion and paired it with the egg noodles. If two of you are visiting and want to enjoy Peking duck, keep in mind that a half-portion menu exists.
Peking duck that takes at least 30 hours to prepare
There was a description of Mirim Yangjang and Peking duck written on the table.

It said Peking duck takes at least 30 hours from drying to roasting — showing how much time is needed to prepare and cook the duck.
It also explained how to eat it: wrap the meat in a wheat pancake, dip it in the sauce, and add scallion or cucumber strips.
Half Peking duck with crisp skin and wheat pancakes
Finally, the Peking duck we ordered arrived. I remembered how good it was in China and had high expectations again — and seeing it in person, it looked delicious just from its appearance.

Along with the Peking duck came cucumber, scallion strips, and wheat pancakes. It wasn't just about eating the meat alone — you could put various sides into the pancake, which meant the cucumber and scallion strips added variety in texture too.

I tried the skin first, and the crispy texture was really delicious. The meat itself was tender, and it tasted even better wrapped in the wheat pancake.

I laid the duck on the pancake, added cucumber and scallion strips, and dipped it in the sauce — the crispy skin, tender meat, and crunchy vegetables together made for a really great combination.

The wheat pancakes served with the duck were individually wrapped in paper, which was convenient for pulling out one at a time.

Hong Kong-style stir-fried egg noodles with the duck
Another menu I really recommend at Mirim Yangjang Busan Main Branch is the Hong Kong-style stir-fried egg noodles.
The egg noodles had seasoning that blended nicely into the noodles for a rich, savory flavor, and the bean sprouts mixed in added a crunchy texture. If you like noodle dishes, this is one to try. It also went really well paired with the Peking duck.

While the Peking duck was enjoyed wrapped in wheat pancakes, the egg noodles let us enjoy the texture of the noodles themselves in harmony with the bean sprouts. The two dishes had different charms, and I felt glad we'd ordered them together.

If you're looking for a Jeonpo restaurant and wondering what to pair with Peking duck, try ordering the Hong Kong-style egg noodles too. It's a dish I'd want to eat again on a future visit :)
Is Mirim Yangjang worth it for Chinese food in Jeonpo?
Mirim Yangjang Busan Main Branch, which I visited this time, fulfilled my hope of eating Peking duck. I'd had good memories of eating it in China and wanted to try it again after a while, so it was great being able to enjoy Peking duck right in Jeonpo.
