What's in Cultured's 38,500-won lunch set?

Cultured's prices are reasonable overall, and having a separate lunch menu makes it even better. The lunch set includes 1 salad, 1 main, 1 pizza, and a drink. You can have all that for ₩38,500.

The value at this Ara-dong restaurant shows in the drinks too. Usually with a set menu you get just one or two drinks for the whole table, right? Cultured gives one drink per person.

What we ordered at Cultured and what it cost

Full spread of pasta, pizza, and risotto

Today we ordered beef fried rice (₩11,000), squid ink cream risotto (₩18,000), whole bread cream pane (₩19,000), and the lunch set (₩40,500 → ricotta chicken salad, shrimp oil pasta, bulgogi pizza +₩2,000).

We're big eaters, but for reference, I've often seen the lunch set shared among 3–4 people.

Beef fried rice, 11,000 won

Beef fried rice serving two at Cultured

The beef fried rice serves two, and the portion is truly huge. The beef, vegetables, and the sweet-salty seasoning were so tasty. I was satisfied with how fluffy yet soft the fried rice was.

A spoonful of beef fried rice

The price is nice and the portion is huge, so the value is great. I don't usually order fried rice at a family restaurant, but I thought, this one I have to order every time I come.

Squid ink cream risotto, 18,000 won

Squid ink cream risotto piled with squid

It was piled high with moist squid, so it looked generous right from the start.

The squid was really tender, and there was plenty of it, so we could share calmly without fighting over it haha.

With risotto, it's sometimes disappointing when the rice is too firm or too mushy, but the doneness here was just right. The squid ink was generous too, filling the mouth with a rich ink flavor.

Shrimp oil pasta from the lunch set

Cultured's shrimp oil pasta

The shrimp had such a springy texture. Garlic, zucchini, and onion mingled with the oil, adding a sweet vegetable flavor plus savory depth.

Even though it's an oil pasta, it didn't feel greasy. The flavor from the ingredients soaked well into the oil, so I ended up scraping up every last bit of sauce with my spoon.

Whole-loaf cream pane, 19,000 won

Cultured's whole bread cream pane

For pane, the bread is everything, right? This bread was the textbook definition of crispy outside, soft inside. Plenty of mushrooms and onions added fun texture too.

Bread dipped in the pane's cream sauce

The cream sauce was just the right thickness and generously portioned, so I enjoyed even the last piece of bread with the sauce.

Bulgogi pizza (2,000 won extra)

Bulgogi pizza with pastry dough

The pizza has a pastry dough. It's loaded with cheese and crispy, giving a different texture from a regular dough.

Cross-section of a slice of bulgogi pizza

The toppings weren't skimped on, and it wasn't overly seasoned, so it didn't feel greasy.

Ricotta chicken salad

The salad dressing was really refreshing, pairing perfectly with the pasta or pizza.

Ricotta chicken salad with olives and jalapeño

The salad had a variety of vegetables, onion, olives, and even jalapeño. The chicken was tender, and with the soft, nutty flavor of ricotta cheese added, it was great to pair alongside the other dishes.

Drinks: one per person

Drinks were free, one per person, and there was quite a variety — coffee, tea, juice, soda, even yuja tea (citron tea) — so everyone could pick according to their taste.
