This isn't an ordinary Korean BBQ spot—it specializes in aged Jirisan black pork and Boseong Nokdon pork, so pork lovers should definitely take note! This time, we ordered Cham Dwaejitgan's signature dishes, and I was so satisfied: the meat itself was deeply flavorful and wonderfully juicy, haha. On top of that, the staff grilled everything for us from start to finish, so we could relax and eat without worrying about getting the timing right. Highly recommended for family meals and company dinners 🖤

Cham Dwaejitgan near Sinjung-dong Station

A Korean BBQ recommendation for Sinjung-dong's outdoor-drinking-street area! Cham Dwaejitgan Bucheon Sinjung-dong Branch is about a five-minute walk from Exit 3 of Sinjung-dong Station, so it was super easy to reach by public transportation. It's also fairly close to Lotte Department Store, and you can find it easily by going into the alley between McDonald's and KFC. If you're driving, I recommend using a nearby public parking lot.

The address is 68 Jungdong-ro 262beon-gil, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, on the first floor, and it is open 24 hours every day (00:00–24:00), year-round. You can reserve through Naver Booking, and use a nearby public parking lot for parking.

The black pork and side dishes we ordered

There were various cuts of pork to choose from, from black pork to Boseong Nokdon pork 🥩 Please refer to the menu photo for the menu and prices! There were two of us, and we thoroughly ordered black pork five-layer pork belly 160 g, black pork neck 160 g, Boseong Nokdon pork jowl 160 g, plus soy sauce egg rice and steamed egg, haha.

How were the spacious seats and handmade grill?

Once we stepped inside, the space was much bigger than I expected! 👀 There were plenty of seats, making it nice and comfortable for a meal. Apparently, it can accommodate up to 120 people. I thought it would be a good option for anyone looking for a group gathering or company dinner venue in Bucheon Sinjung-dong, too. The tables weren't packed too closely together, so even larger groups should be able to eat comfortably.

A handmade grill that quickly draws in grease and smoke

When I go to Korean BBQ restaurants, the things I worry about most are grease splattering on my clothes and the smell soaking in—but Cham Dwaejitgan's grill was different from the start! They use a handmade grill designed so that its center fits snugly with the exhaust pipe, quickly drawing in the grease and smoke released as the meat cooks. Thanks to that, the air never felt stuffy while the meat was grilling, so we could eat comfortably, haha. I think I'll immediately think of this place whenever I want neatly grilled meat 🥓

Self-serve sides and pairing the pork with minari

All the basic side dishes and vegetables, except minari (water celery), could be freely refilled at the self-serve bar. The meat-friendly banchan (Korean side dishes) were nicely put together, making it so easy to grab what we wanted 😊 Along with ssam vegetables such as lettuce and perilla leaves and salad, there was a great range of sauces to mix and match to your taste: garlic, chili peppers, ssamjang (savory soybean paste), spicy sauce, salt, and wasabi ❣️

They also placed kimchi, potatoes, mushrooms, and minari on the grill, and it was so fun to cook them until golden. Pairing a piece of Jirisan black pork with grilled minari filled my mouth with its fresh, fragrant flavor—the combination was seriously the best ✨

Steamed egg and soy sauce egg rice are essential

The steamed egg and soy sauce egg rice we added as sides came out quickly as soon as we ordered, so there was no break in the flow of our meal! The steamed egg was especially impressive, with a moist, soft, pudding-like texture and none of that dry feeling at all 💛

The soy sauce egg rice was generously loaded with perilla leaves and seaweed flakes, and as soon as I mixed it, the nutty aroma of sesame oil came through strongly—I was impressed from the first bite, haha. It was perfect for taking the edge off our hunger before the meat was ready, and ridiculously delicious with the pork ➰ Every side was so well done that we cleaned every plate!

Staff-grilled black pork belly and neck

The main dishes, black pork five-layer pork belly and pork neck, arrived, and they were visibly so thick that I was already excited before they even hit the grill, haha.

As the meat turned golden on the grill, the scent of rice-husk smoking and a subtle charcoal aroma wafted up—it had already passed the smell test.. ✨ The staff grilled the meat for us! Thanks to the handmade grill, there was no worry at all about grease splattering 👍🏻

The more I chewed, the more its nutty flavor spread through my mouth, and the chewy texture was still so alive—it was incredibly good ➰

The kind of flavor that honestly makes you gasp from the first bite 💕 If you're looking for a great restaurant on Bucheon Sinjung-dong's outdoor-drinking street, I strongly recommend Cham Dwaejitgan!

Lastly, the staff carefully grilled the pork jowl for us as well. Its distinctive springy texture really came through, and it was so delicious. The staff member who grilled everything kindly and deliciously right through to the end was truly the best..!! 👍🏻

Usually, when I eat meat, my favorite classic pairing is just a little wasabi and salt! But Cham Dwaejitgan has a special signature combination of its own 👀

Cham Dwaejitgan's signature potato wrap

It's called gamja ssam (potato wrap): thinly julienned potatoes are grilled until crisp, then topped with meat, minari, and sauce before being wrapped up ✨ The crispy, potato-chip-like potatoes, juicy black pork, and fragrant minari came together more beautifully than I imagined. If you visit, I definitely recommend trying this potato wrap combination ➰

Cham Dwaejitgan, a Bucheon Korean BBQ restaurant that satisfied us from beginning to end 🥓 From the quality of the meat and the comfortable handmade grill to the thoughtful side dishes and the minari-and-potato-wrap combination, nothing was missing. Be sure to stop by if you're nearby!!
