When you're on a date in Haenggung-dong, you want good food, sure, but also a good vibe, right? While looking for somewhere to eat in Haenggung-dong, I found Nonchalant Lounge, which looked spacious and had a nice atmosphere — so I went!
Once I got there, the atmosphere was even better than I expected, and the menu was totally my style, so it ended up being the perfect date :)
Where is Nonchalant Lounge? Address, parking and hours
Nonchalant Lounge is a Western restaurant located in Haenggung-dong, near Suwon Hwaseong! It's in a great spot for eating in Haenggung-dong and then taking a walk around Suwon Hwaseong afterward, so it works well as part of a date course.

Bonus: it's right on the street, so it's easy to find 🥰

I'd recommend using the nearby paid Hwahongmun Public Parking Lot! There's weekday parking fee support for up to 2 hours.
What is the atmosphere like inside Nonchalant Lounge?
The first thing I noticed walking into Nonchalant Lounge was, "Wow, this is bigger than I expected!"

I usually picture cozy, small spaces when I think of restaurants in Haenggung-dong, but Nonchalant Lounge felt much more spacious than that.

So I thought it would be a comfortable spot not just for dates, but for family meals or group gatherings too!

And sure enough, I saw all kinds of customers there — friends, couples, and families!
But I think the real strength of Nonchalant Lounge is just how good the atmosphere is.

There's a big screen on one side of the restaurant playing mellow music, and the whole place feels wonderfully cozy.

The seats are spaced generously too, so it seems like it would be great for a blind date!
What we ordered: pasta, risotto and drinks by QR code
You can order easily at Nonchalant Lounge just by scanning a QR code!

There were so many delicious-looking menu items... we ended up ordering a whole range from cream-based dishes to rosé and risotto haha
- Bisque rosé pasta
- Classic carbonara
- Truffle bulgogi risotto
- Lemon beer
- Grapefruit ade
How is the classic carbonara? Thick, creamy sauce
I already have a soft spot for cream-based dishes, and Nonchalant Lounge really nails cream sauce!

The classic carbonara in particular stood out.

Nonchalant's carbonara keeps that traditional feel while still tasting like something Korean diners would love! Above all, the sauce was so thick and rich that it clung properly to every strand of pasta.

With the first bite of the classic carbonara, I immediately thought, "Ah, Nonchalant Lounge really knows how to do cream."

Truffle bulgogi risotto: perilla leaf cuts the richness
The truffle bulgogi risotto was delicious too. The sauce on the risotto was also quite thick, so at first I thought it might end up a bit too rich.

But then the perilla leaf (kkaetnip) came in and cut right through that heaviness!
The truffle aroma and the familiar taste of bulgogi (Korean marinated beef), combined with the perilla leaf, made for a surprisingly good combination. The special cream sauce tied it all together — thick, but the kind of dish you keep going back for haha

Bisque rosé pasta with big whole shrimp
And finally, the bisque rosé pasta! One bite and the seafood flavor hit right away.

The distinct seafood depth of a bisque came through strongly, and above all, the shrimp were huge and plump. It's always a bit disappointing when the shrimp in a pasta are tiny, but here they were big enough that you really noticed them with every bite.
The rosé sauce wasn't too light either, and with that added seafood richness, I think anyone who loves shrimp would really enjoy this one.

Does lemon draft beer go with cream pasta?
For drinks, I ordered the lemon draft beer, which turned out to be surprisingly good too. Maybe because it's so refreshing, it paired unexpectedly well with the cream-based Western dishes.

Honestly, it ended up being one of the more memorable things I had that day haha
Trying all three dishes together, each had that cream element but went in a different direction. The carbonara was thick and savory, the bulgogi risotto felt a little more familiar thanks to the perilla leaf, and the bisque rosé pasta had that deep seafood richness!
If you're looking for a good restaurant near Suwon Hwaseong or in Haenggung-dong, give Nonchalant Lounge a try — a Western restaurant with a great atmosphere! Especially if, like me, you're a fan of cream pasta or risotto, this menu is worth keeping in mind :)
