Today I want to introduce Nonchalant Lounge, a place I found while looking for somewhere with good atmosphere in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. It serves a variety of Western dishes like steak and pasta in a stylish space, making it perfect for dates or brunch.

🕯️ Inside Nonchalant Lounge: warm, antique and cozy

Stepping inside, the interior felt even more antique and cozy than the exterior suggested.

The furniture and decor are arranged a little differently in each section, but the overall mood flows naturally, so every seat looked pretty.

I visited on a weekday for lunch, and the whole place had a relaxed, unhurried mood — not noisy at all, which made for a slow, enjoyable meal. It seems like a great fit for a quiet meal and conversation in Haenggung-dong.

📋 Here's the Nonchalant Lounge menu :) It offers a wide range of Western dishes from steak to pasta, salads, and risotto, so there's plenty to choose from — and in the evening there's a separate bar menu alongside the dinner menu.

There's also a good variety of alcohol to pair with the food, which seems great for an evening date or an atmospheric dinner.

🍽️ Dishes that look good before you even taste them

The food didn't take long to arrive after ordering, which was nice. Each dish came out one by one, and they looked so good I ended up taking a bunch of photos.

🍻 Signature lemon draft beer, 11,000 won

First up is the signature lemon draft beer we ordered together. The cool, refreshing draft beer combined with the tangy lemon made it lighter and easier to drink than a regular beer. Taking a sip between bites cleaned my palate nicely — I liked that.

🥩 Chuck flap steak platter, 37,000 won

This comes with prime-grade sirloin flap steak, grilled vegetables, Maldon salt, and butter galbi sauce. Rather than serving the steak alone, it comes with sides to pair with it, making it a good option to share between two people.

The steak had no gamey smell at all, and you could really taste the tender texture unique to flap steak. It chewed smoothly with no tough spots, so it was tasty even with just a touch of Maldon salt and no sauce. My favorite combination personally was the butter galbi sauce with whole-grain mustard 👍🏻

The grilled vegetables that came with it paired well with the steak too. Overall, the seasoning wasn't too heavy, so it went well with the meat — I especially liked the mushrooms 🍄

🍚 Butter rice, 3,500 won

With a subtle butter aroma and fluffy grains, it paired well with the steak, and dipping it into the pasta's cream sauce added a nutty flavor that worked really well too!

🍝 Chicken alfredo cream pasta, 18,000 won

This dish features grilled chicken thigh on top of a rich cream sauce made with cheese and milk.

I'm someone who prefers flat noodles among pastas anyway, and since they use flat noodles here, I personally liked it even more. The noodles were well coated in the thick, smooth cream sauce, so with the first bite I could really taste the rich flavor of the sauce ✨

The grilled chicken thigh on top was really tender too. Slightly seared on the outside and juicy on the inside, it paired nicely with the cream sauce.

Adding a bit of the thick cream sauce to the butter rice and topping it with the grilled chicken thigh turned out to be a better combination than I expected 💛

Is Nonchalant Lounge worth it for a Haenggung-dong date?

Visiting Nonchalant Lounge 🤍 for a weekday lunch let me enjoy steak and pasta slowly in a relaxed atmosphere. The warm, cozy mood was great for eating and chatting, and the food was satisfying overall in both taste and presentation.

The dishes weren't too strong-flavored, and each ingredient's taste came through clearly, which made for a slow, enjoyable meal :) If you want to enjoy good Western food and atmosphere together in Haenggung-dong on a special day, this could be a nice date spot.
