Daegu café with group seating and fig pound cake: Hands Coffee
In short
Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a large café spread over the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors near Dongchon Resort in Dong-gu, Daegu. On a weekend visit at 3pm, the writer looked over the seating on each floor and ordered a milk cream roll, fig chocolate pound cake, an iced americano and an ice cream café latte. For a group gathering, Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a place where it pays to find your seats before you order.

Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a large Daegu café I'd recommend for weekend group gatherings thanks to its wide range of seating options. Even at 3pm on a weekend it was busy, but the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors worked well as a spot for family or friend meetups. If you're going with a group, I'd suggest checking out the seating first before ordering. It's a big building near Dongchon Resort, and since it shares the space with a charcoal grill restaurant on the 1st floor, the whole place felt substantial right from the start.
Is parking easy at Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch?
Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch has a store-only parking lot on the 1st floor, but it filled up really fast on a weekend afternoon. Since it's shared with the charcoal grill restaurant downstairs, it can feel a bit tight — but roadside parking around the store is possible too!

Can Hands Coffee Dongchon seat a big group? Floor-by-floor seating
The café at Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is split across the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors, and some seats look out toward Dongchon Resort, so there were a lot of families and groups of friends.

The 2nd floor is good for sitting right down after ordering, the 3rd floor is nice for group conversation, and the 4th floor is comfortable for lingering too. The 4th floor especially had a variety of seating — outdoor terrace seats, floor seating, and more.

Antique furniture and coffee tools filled out the store's atmosphere, and I especially loved the yellow tumbler — it was so cute I spent a while looking at it.

The women's restroom is on the 3rd and 4th floors, and the men's restroom is on the 4th floor.

What to order for a group: the brunch and dessert menu
Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch has brunch sets and sandwiches, plus quite a wide range of choices from waffles and crepes to bakery items and cookies. I ordered the milk cream roll, fig chocolate pound cake, iced americano, and ice cream café latte.

If you're in a group, I'd recommend something shareable like patbingsu (shaved ice dessert) or waffles rather than everyone just picking their own drink!

How do the milk cream roll, fig chocolate pound cake and coffee taste?
The chocolate pound cake topped with fig jam had fig aroma coming through the rich chocolate flavor, so it was sweet without being one-note. I didn't know fig jam and chocolate could go together this well!

Still, the menu item I want to recommend first is the milk cream roll. The fluffy bread and soft cream went down light, so the cream wasn't greasy at all, and it paired well with the coffee.
The iced americano had fairly noticeable acidity for my taste, and the Sanghamokjang ice cream café latte is a great combo if you like a strong milk flavor.

At the time of my visit, there were a lot of orders for the original and green tea patbingsu too, which made me curious!
Who is this Daegu café best for?
- Anyone who wants spacious seating to enjoy coffee together after a family gathering
- Anyone looking for a variety of dessert options to share among several people
- Anyone looking for a date café with Dongchon Resort views and window seats
- Anyone looking for a wide range of brunch options

I think Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a place that covers all the bases evenly — spacious layout, group seating, a view, and a wide variety of desserts. If you have a group gathering coming up near Dongchon Resort, save this and give it a try. If you've been, let me know in the comments which floor was most comfortable or what you'd recommend — I'll keep it in mind for my next visit haha!
Tip: If the store's own parking lot is full, roadside parking is available!
