On a nice weekend, my husband and I went for a little outing to Seongsu-dong. There was a spot I'd had my eye on for a while that's been super hot lately, and I finally got to visit — this is the Seongsu café that's been all over word-of-mouth for its tiramisu, haha. I heard you can taste authentic Italian flavors here, so my expectations were sky-high!

What we ordered at Frolla: espresso and four desserts

Besides the signature Seongsu café tiramisu, there's a whole range of espresso menu items. There's also delicious brunch and panini. My husband and I, visiting on the weekend, ordered espresso tiramisu, bombardino, tiramisu cake, and crostata, haha. Honestly, the lineup is stunning just from the visuals alone — wow!

How did Frolla's tiramisu and bombardino taste?

Espresso tiramisu and bombardino
Tiramisu dessert paired with espresso

The one I was most looking forward to, the Seongsu café tiramisu — one bite in, and my eyes lit up! The bitterness of the espresso blending with the cream is absolutely fantastic. The tiramisu cake was so soft and sweet that I kept reaching for more. The bombardino had a warm, heavy richness that felt almost like art, good stuff! Even after finishing the moist tiramisu, it kept popping into my head — that's how good this dessert really is. It pairs beautifully with espresso, and the coffee layered underneath was excellent too.

Moist tiramisu and coffee-flavored dessert

If you love sweet desserts, you have to try the Seongsu café tiramisu. You can really feel the touch of an Italian barista giving it that extra depth. The crostata tart we finished with was crispy and refreshing too — totally satisfying. My husband loved it and practically inhaled it, haha.

What I liked most was that it wasn't just about the desserts tasting good — the atmosphere of the space itself felt special. With colorful interiors and exotic little props scattered everywhere, even during our short stay it felt like a mini trip to Italy.

It's especially great for enjoying coffee and dessert together, so it fits well as a Seongsu-dong date course. Anyone who loves strong espresso, or sweet tiramisu and tarts, will likely be satisfied here.

My husband and I had a relaxed time sharing desserts one by one, chatting and taking photos. Seongsu-dong has so many pretty cafés, but this place's unique atmosphere and Italian mood definitely stuck with us. Next time we're back in Seongsu-dong, I'd love to try the menu items we missed this time.
