Apple crumble pie and a 3rd-floor group table: Bakerist Brown, Gangnam
In short
Bakerist Brown is a large bakery café near Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul, spread across a basement floor and three above-ground floors. Visiting around noon, I tried the apple crumble pie, salt cream coffee, and an 8-piece box of Gangnam Sand, and checked out the elegant large table on the 3rd floor. With a huge bread selection, group seating and an indoor restroom, it's a great pick for a special outing with friends.

A vibe with an outdoor terrace too
Found a café near Gangnam Station with such a great atmosphere 💡 The interior really stands out and has a foreign feel, which I loved 🫶🏻
There are tables outside too, with a terrace feel full of sunlight ☀️

Still hot out, but once it cools down a bit, sitting outside enjoying dessert leisurely would be lovely

1st floor bread display and goods
The 1st floor is where you order — right as you walk in there's a whole wall of incredibly delicious-looking bread (so so exciting~♡) 🥖🍞🥯🥐🥨 They also sell Bakerist Brown goods. Summery short-sleeve tees, way cuter than I expected?!

What are the 2nd and 3rd floor seats like?
2nd floor
Head up to the 2nd floor and there's a sunny window seat, a sofa seat, and a full-length mirror that's great for photos
On to the 3rd floor~
3rd floor
The 3rd floor has a different vibe from the 2nd — fancier tables and chairs. There's also a huge large table, so no problem visiting in a group~! And there's an indoor restroom, which was super convenient 🫶🏻

The bread display at noon
After grabbing a seat, I went back down to the 1st floor to order

I visited around noon and most of the bread was fully stocked, though a few items hadn't come out yet~ (the wakppu salt bread I'd seen in reviews wasn't there ㅠㅠ)

The fridge case is also packed full of tasty-looking cakes, croissants, and Seoul Sand

You grab a plate and tongs and pick out your bread 🤎

Drink and bread lineup
Best menu: salt cream latte / New menu: black sesame latte, plum ade. From coffee to ade, tea, lattes, and bingsu (shaved ice), there's a wide range of drinks to try

Madeleines / conch cream pastry

Pastry loaf bread / croissant / pain au chocolat / egg tart

Basil cream cheese twist / French pie / alligator pastry / salt bread

Mentaiko salt bread / wakppu salt bread / melon salt bread
Pudding / cheesecake / fig kouign-amann / fig croissant

You can also buy them in an 8-piece package, and the dedicated packaging box looks so pretty color-wise — Gangnam Sand is great for gifts ✨ They also have the wakppu salt bread that's trending right now, plus all kinds of bread you don't usually see. I'd recommend visiting here with friends on a special day 👍🏻
What I ordered and the prices
- Gangnam Sand (8pc): ₩19,000
- Apple crumble pie: ₩5,800
- Salt cream latte: ₩7,800
I was super curious about the best-menu salt cream latte. I also ordered the apple crumble pie, which looked amazing 🍏, and the Gangnam Sand with its lovely colorful look
I was supposed to get the Gangnam Sand to go but totally forgot,,,haha. But it looks so pretty in photos anyway 🫧
8 flavors of Gangnam Sand
- 🤎Raspberry Blossom: tangy-sweet raspberry that lifts your mood
- 🤎Sweet Pumpkin Jack: clean, soft sweetness that highlights the sweet pumpkin flavor
- 🤎Golden Hour: caramel & white chocolate sweetness in perfect harmony
- 🤎Black Grain: nutty black sesame & cream that pops with flavor
- 🤎Rich Ganache: deep, rich chocolate & cream
- 🤎London Fog: earl grey & white chocolate cream, fragrant in every bite
- 🤎Forest: bitter, smooth matcha & cream cheese
- 🤎Peanut Butter Wave: sweet-salty peanut butter charm
Gangnam Sand's charm is the crispy texture with soft cream!!! Keep it refrigerated and the cream gets even crispier and chewier

How does the apple crumble pie taste?
[Apple crumble pie] A crispy pie with sweet apple jam plus crumble on top for extra crunch ✨

The bread that stood out most among all the options 🥨 Apple pie is always good, no matter when you eat it 🫶🏻

There's even a generous amount of soft cream inside the pie — how am I supposed to resist that…?💓 Whenever I'm craving a good dessert, I'll definitely head back to Bakerist Brown, that bakery café near Gangnam Station haha

Gangnam Sand and salt cream coffee
[Gangnam Sand] Crispy, nutty cookies with different cream flavors inside each one, so it's fun to eat through them all~
Took a bite — crispy outside, moist and creamy inside. You can really taste the raspberry tanginess in this one, and it wasn't too sweet, so it was easy to enjoy without feeling heavy 👍🏻 My personal favorite is the matcha one 💚 The bitterness of the matcha really comes through, and I enjoyed it so much 🙈
[Salt cream coffee] A coffee with a perfectly balanced sweet-and-salty combo of French Guérande salt cream and sweet coffee ☕️🤎
The cream itself has a slight saltiness that, surprisingly, gets more delicious the more you drink
Not sure if you're supposed to mix it or drink it separately, but I drank it with the cream first, then stirred it together partway through — it was creamy and went down smoothly ☕️ Highly recommend to anyone who wants a different kind of coffee flavor 🐰

✔️ Note: dine-in is only available until 22:00!
I asked them to pack the leftover sandies to go, and they put them in an adorable little box. My recommendation for a great bakery near Gangnam Station — Bakerist Brown 💓
