Sushi restaurant near Sajik Stadium with a ramen swap: Moshi Moshi

Moshi Moshi Sushi, Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch is a Japanese restaurant on the 8th floor of Lotte Department Store in Dongnae-gu, Busan, and an easy place to eat before a baseball game at Sajik Stadium. We booked ahead and ordered the 2-3 person set plus a sushi platter with no overlapping dishes, then swapped the set's udon for ramen, which came with chashu pork. With department store parking and a private room, Moshi Moshi Sushi made for a relaxed meal with a child.

Bueokgan Restaurant is a Western restaurant serving pasta, pizza and steak on the 1st floor of Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets in Gijang, Busan. For dinner with my husband and our child we ordered carbonara, truffle mushroom pizza and kung pao chicken pilaf, and the spicy pilaf cut through the richness of the pasta and pizza. With a baby chair and silicone plates and cups on hand, Bueokgan was an easy dinner stop with a kid.

Haeundae kids-zone restaurant with peppercorn-free carbonara: Bueokgan

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is a kids-welcome Western and pasta restaurant on the Dalmaji-gil hill in Haeundae, Busan. Dining with two 30-month-old children, the writer ordered the Bueokgan couple's dish set (51,000 won), which brought sweet pumpkin soup, grilled mushroom salad, carbonara and arugula prosciutto pizza, with baby chairs and baby tableware all provided. The children ate the carbonara happily, though asking Bueokgan to leave out the whole peppercorns in advance would have made it even easier.

Gochu jjajang with a baby at Marine City ocean-view Chinese: Bueokgan

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Adelis commercial building in Haeundae, Busan, right above Subyeon Choego Pork Gukbap. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out over Dongbaekseom and Haeundae Beach, and because Bueokgan has group rooms, private rooms and baby chairs, we brought our baby and ordered gochu jjajang (chili black bean noodles), mala gosu jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup with cilantro) and black vinegar deungsim tangsuyuk (sweet and sour sirloin pork). The lineup is a step away from the usual Chinese restaurant menu, which makes Bueokgan a good pick for a family meal or a date.

Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets is a Western restaurant tucked into the innermost end of NORTH 1F at the Gijang outlet in Busan, right beside the UGG store. After shopping, the family ordered sweet potato fries (8,000 won), rucola prosciutto pizza (22,000 won) and shrimp anchovy oil pasta (18,000 won) through the KT Hi Order kiosk on the table. The smoky, savoury shrimp anchovy oil pasta was the clear favourite at Bueokgan — the one dish worth ordering again on a repeat visit.

Moshi Moshi Sushi, Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch is a Japanese restaurant on the 8th-floor restaurant level of Lotte Department Store in Dongnae, Busan. A blogger 36 weeks pregnant and her husband booked a weekday morning table through Naver and ordered the chashu set for two, served in order as tofu salad, 16-piece sushi, udon and chashu. The sushi was not quite melt-in-your-mouth, but at this price the set filled up two people comfortably.

Haeundae kiosk-order restaurant with wood-tone window seats: Bueokgan

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is a European restaurant on the second floor of a building on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan, in front of Hillstate Weve. Of the three seating concepts, we took a wood-tone window seat and used the kiosk to order the couple's dish set — pumpkin soup, garden salad, shrimp rosé pasta, basil margherita pizza, orange juice and lemonade — dipping the chewy pizza dough into the soup and rosé sauce until nothing was left. With mild, unfussy Western food, a spacious hall and its own car park, Bueokgan Haeundae suits both dates and family meals.

Nampo sushi restaurant with combo sets A and B: Moshi Moshi Sushi

Moshi Moshi Sushi is a Japanese sushi restaurant in the 10th-floor dining hall of Lotte Department Store Gwangbok in Jung-gu, Busan, near Nampo. For dinner after shopping, the writer ordered combo sushi set A and combo sushi set B together, plus one extra piece of tuna, to compare the two: set A includes futomaki (thick seaweed roll), while set B comes with three kinds of tempura and a yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) nigiri. Between the side salads and the miso soup, nothing missed, making Moshi Moshi Sushi a satisfying department store meal.

Marine City Chinese lunch set with eohyang mandu in Busan: Bueokgan

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant on the second floor of a building along the Marine City coastal road in Haeundae, Busan. The weekday lunch set, served 11:00-15:00, brought 200g tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), ganjajang noodles with a poached egg and five-layer pork, and beef brisket jjamppong for 2,000 won extra, plus free eohyang mandu (fish-fragrant dumplings) from a review event. The black vinegar sauce and handmade noodles at Bueokgan Chinese make it an easy choice for a date, a family meal or a business lunch.

On a weekend lunch visit the writer ordered two sushi platters, upgraded one to the better sushi option, chose udon instead of soba, and had shrimp and sweet potato tempura, tofu salad and plum ade with the meal. A line did form, but tables at Moshi Moshi Sushi turned over quickly, making it an easy lunch near Nampo Station for a date or a meal with parents.

Crab guts bibimbap set and sushi Set 2 in Dongnae, Busan: Moshi Moshi

Moshi Moshi Sushi, Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch is a Japanese restaurant on the 8th-floor dining floor of Lotte Department Store Dongnae in Dongnae-gu, Busan. On a day out to drop off shoes for repair, lunch here was the crab guts bibimbap set at 19,000 won and Set 2 (sushi, chashu, udon) at 54,900 won, plus a soda, for a total of 75,900 won, with free refills of soft tofu and salad. The sushi quality was good and the udon on top made it a genuinely filling department store lunch.

Weekday lunch abalone cream risotto in Haeundae, Busan: Bueokgan

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is a Western restaurant on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. Arriving for an early weekday lunch, the table ordered jambon pizza, abalone cream risotto, seafood tomato clay-pot pasta and an apple Earl Grey ade, and every dish came out almost at once even with the window seats nearly full. The sweet-salty jambon pizza and thick abalone cream risotto were the standouts, and with plenty of parking Bueokgan suits both a brunch outing and a date.
