Beef gopchang with an anchovy noodle finish in Garak-dong: Jinseong
In short
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Garak Flagship is a beef gopchang (grilled beef intestine) restaurant in Garak-dong, Songpa, Seoul, sitting between Garak Market Station and Gyeongchal Hospital. Two people ordered three servings of hanwoo gopchang at 19,000 won each and finished with both desserts, kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice and anchovy noodle soup, with pickled minari (water dropwort) in garlic sauce, green onion kimchi and mustard leaf kimchi rounding out the table. Weekend evenings mean a 1-hour wait, but 8 p.m. on a Thursday had only one group ahead, so an off-peak weekday evening is the smart time to go.

Where is Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Garak Flagship?
I went to Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang, a legit gopchang (grilled beef intestine) spot in Garak-dong. The Garak Flagship location sits between Garak Market Station and Gyeongchal Hospital, and you can walk there from the station haha. It's genuinely one of my favorite restaurants in Garak-dong — it's already been on TV and gotten pretty famous lol.
How long is the wait at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang?
The restaurant is pretty big so you'll spot it right away once you're nearby! There's always a wait in the evenings.

There's no Catch Table — you go in person, write your name and party size on the chalkboard, and wait out front. There are plenty of chairs outside so waiting isn't too bad. They call your name when it's ready. I waited an hour on a weekend evening, but when I went around 8pm on a Thursday there was only one team ahead of me. I'd recommend an off-peak weekday evening haha.
Menu, prices and the house garlic sauce

Jinseong's ★best menu★ is the hanwoo gopchang and kkakdugi fried rice. It really does come out exactly like the photos. Genuinely so good..ㅠㅠ

On pricing: hanwoo gopchang/daechang is ₩19,000 for 220g, and hanwoo makchang is ₩20,000 for 220g. For dessert there's kkakdugi fried rice and anchovy noodle soup, and I tried both haha.

And the real kick at Jinseong is the minari (water dropwort) pickled garlic sauce... it's made with pickled garlic and minari specifically for the sauce, and it's amazing with the gopchang. Dip the rice cakes, dip all the vegetables in it. If you run low, refills are available.

Another highlight is the three kinds of kimchi — they're good enough to sell on their own, both the green onion kimchi and the mustard leaf kimchi. Steamed egg and chives are also included in the basic table setting!

Three servings of hanwoo gopchang for two people

Finally, the hanwoo gopchang arrives. There were two of us and we ordered three servings, which is just right when you're also having dessert after.

The visuals are absolutely insane ㅠㅠㅠㅠ The gopchang comes with cabbage, bean sprouts, rice cakes, potato, and kimchi. The combination is honestly the best.

They set a stopwatch and the staff grill and cut everything for you, and I was so excited waiting… ㅠ

Ugh, this looks so good. Every combination is delicious lol

The gopchang is thick and savory, and with the sauce, three servings disappear instantly ㋧ I've been to a lot of gopchang restaurants but this is genuinely the best gopchang place of my life,, hahaha. And now, dessert!!!
Dessert: kkakdugi fried rice and anchovy noodle soup

Here comes the kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice. They bring it out like this for you to mix yourself, and I actually prefer this style over regular fried rice.

It's loaded with beef tripe, radish salad, and kkakdugi — nothing skimped on — and mixing it all together is pure gold haha. One order is plenty for two people, and I'll definitely order this again next time.

Then we ordered the anchovy noodle soup. The warm broth pairs so well after everything else haha. By the time we finished the noodle soup, we were completely full. From gopchang to dessert, it was a perfect dinner 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is a legit favorite of mine in Garak-dong so I've been back many times, and it's delicious every single time, plus the staff are always kind! It's the kind of place I think about regularly. Time your visit well to avoid the wait and stop by Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Garak Flagship. Highly recommend it as a beef gopchang spot in Garak-dong~~~~~~
