Directions and parking from Seomyeon Station Exit 8
Location first: it's at 24 Dongcheon-ro 107beon-gil, 1st floor, Busanjin-gu, Busan, and it's really right by Seomyeon Station Exit 8 — about 134m, so 2 minutes on foot. From Jeonpo Station it's 9 minutes, which isn't too bad either. Coming out of Exit 8, head about 30m toward NC Department Store (i.e. toward Jeonpo Station), turn left when you see Top Class Optical, then keep going straight — you'll see a lottery shop ahead, and the restaurant is right at the start of the alley to its right. First-timers might get a bit confused, but just remember it's tucked in an alley.
There's no parking lot at the restaurant itself, so you'll need a nearby paid lot — Lucky Parking (121-1 Dongcheon-ro, Busanjin-gu, open-air) and Rosy Life Parking (13 Dongcheon-ro 107beon-gil, tower-type) are both close by.

📍Seomyeon restaurant: Gilchon Sutbul Galbi Seomyeon Main Branch Address: 24 Dongcheon-ro 107beon-gil, 1st floor, Busanjin-gu, Busan, South Korea Hours: Open daily 12:00–23:30 (last order 23:00) Open daily from lunchtime with no break time, this Seomyeon BBQ spot works well for lunch, a daytime drink, or dinner gatherings and get-togethers.
The exterior alone told me this place meant business. The sign reads "Gilchon" in big letters with "Charcoal-grilled fresh pork rib specialist" right underneath, and it's not just talk — phrases like "We debone our own meat" and "Bone-in meat is always right" are posted all over, and you can feel the pride.

Booth seating, private rooms, and a self-serve bar
Booth seating, private rooms, and a self-serve bar
Inside, the calm interior mixes wood tones with stone, and the booth-style seating gives a nice sense of privacy. Every table has a tablet for ordering, and silver ventilation ducts run from the ceiling straight to each table, so you don't have to worry about smelling like grilled meat afterward. There are window seats too, good for watching the Seomyeon street scene while you eat.
Further inside there's a private room space that's great for group gatherings or work dinners — I thought it'd be perfect for the next company dinner.
The self-serve bar was well stocked too, with shredded green onion, garlic, and pickled radish to add as you like.

Menu and prices — ₩5,900 per 100g, no table fee
The menu looked simple and straightforward at a glance. Both fresh pork ribs and marinated ribs are priced the same at ₩5,900 per 100g, so there's no confusion at checkout, and you can order by the plate (500g), large plate (800g), or extra half plate (270g). What stood out most was the big sign that reads "No table setting fee" — a lot of BBQ places charge one separately these days, so it was a relief to know you only pay for the meat itself. Side dishes include toast with cheddar cheese, steamed egg, and extra grilled vegetables, and for meals there's doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), minari rice noodle soup, aged kimchi fried rice, half-and-half naengmyeon, and plain rice — plenty to think about for what to finish with after the meat.

Banchan and Jeju-style barley baek-kimchi
The banchan (side dishes) came out covering the whole table, each one tasty enough that I felt like I could've filled up before the ribs even arrived.

What really stood out was the barley baek-kimchi (white kimchi), a specialty made in Jeju Island in early spring. The refreshing taste typical of baek-kimchi combined with the nutty flavor of barley gave it a different charm from regular kimchi. Reading the explanation poster on the wall before eating it made it feel even more special.
Started things off with a cold draft beer~
100% bone-in pork belly ribs, grilled over real charcoal
And now, the star of the show — fresh pork ribs! When ordered, they arrived piled high on a white plate, scored along the grain, and the moment I saw them I thought, "oh, so this is bone-in pork belly." The mix of fat and lean meat looked like it would be full of juice.
These get grilled on a round charcoal grill, and as the charcoal aroma rose up along with the sizzling sound, it was already making my mouth water. Mushrooms and crunchy shishito peppers get grilled alongside, which is a treat on its own.

Once the meat's cooked, you snip it with scissors, and that texture — crisp outside, juicy inside — was pure art. One bite in and it's immediate: "this place is good, this is a pork rib spot, this is THE place for pork ribs in Seomyeon."

Wrapped a spoonful of rice and grilled rib in perilla leaf and lettuce, topped with pickled onion and a bit of spicy sauce — honestly, the look of it alone was crazy good. Looking at the photo again makes me want more. The savory, deeply smoky meat met the crunchy onion and there wasn't a moment of greasiness.
And that glossy bowl of rice — can't resist it. Rice and pork ribs are a perfect match.

Finishing with half-and-half naengmyeon
To finish, I ordered the half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles) — one bowl split half spicy bibim-style and half in cold broth, so you get both flavors.

Switching back and forth between the sweet-and-sour bibim side and the cool broth side was the perfect palate cleanser after the meat. It came generously topped with half an egg, cucumber, and radish too.
Overall thoughts
Gilchon Sutbul Galbi Seomyeon Main Branch is clearly one of the few places in Seomyeon really betting on bone-in pork belly. Deboning the meat fresh every day showed in both the texture and the flavor, and the charcoal grilling gave it a deep, rich aroma. Being 2 minutes from Seomyeon Station is a huge plus, and the private seating structure made it comfortable for work dinners, family gatherings, or hanging out with friends. If you're after a good restaurant, pork ribs, or a BBQ spot in Seomyeon, this place is worth a visit. Next time, I definitely want to try the marinated ribs too!
