I was trying to figure out where to go for weekend lunch and came across Kkot Gatsu while searching for good pork cutlet places in Dongtan. It's a handmade pork cutlet restaurant that uses top-grade Korean pork, so I went in with high expectations.

It's closed on September 25, Chuseok day, so worth keeping in mind before you visit.

Public parking lot under the bridge to the right of the restaurant

For parking, we used the public parking lot under the bridge to the right of the restaurant. There's even an EV charging spot, so we could charge the car while we ate — really convenient.

It's only a 1–2 minute walk from there to the restaurant, so moving from the parking lot was no hassle at all.

What the restaurant is like with a toddler in tow

Inside, Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Mokdong is decorated in wood tones, giving it a clean, pleasant atmosphere overall. We arrived around 11:30 and there were already quite a few customers.

Luckily there were still seats open, so we could sit right down without waiting.

Seating with multiple tables and a kids' chair

There were quite a lot of tables, and plenty of kids' chairs on hand, so it was easy to visit with our child. I saw a lot of other families there too.

The restroom is inside the restaurant and split into men's and women's, so we didn't need to step outside — another nice touch.

What we ordered at Kkot Gatsu

Ordering by looking at the paper menu

You order by looking at the paper menu and telling the staff. We got the special top loin cutlet set and the flower cutlet set, and picked one suudong and one hwaudong for our two set udon noodles.

What's on the self-serve bar?

Near the entrance of Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Mokdong there's a self-serve corner with small plates, tongs, scissors, forks, along with seasoned dried radish salad, house-made pickles, and sauces.

The dried radish salad here is especially delicious — I went back for more several times.

Eating it alongside the cutlet cut through the richness nicely; they went really well together.

Special top loin cutlet set, 20,500 won with suudong udon

My husband's special top loin cutlet set had a really generous portion. This place uses unfrozen fresh meat for the cutlets, so the cross-section of the meat can look pinkish-red, apparently.

Eating it, the meat was tender and thick but not dry at all. The suudong wasn't spicy, so our child ate it very well.

Special top loin cutlet served with salt and wasabi

We first tried it with just salt and wasabi. That let us taste the meat itself more, which was nice — a different flavor from dipping it in sauce.

Dipped in the pork cutlet sauce, the sweet, salty sauce went really well with the tender meat. It's the familiar combination, so I kept reaching for more.

My flower cutlet set also came with a generous portion. The flower cutlet, cut into round pieces, was crispy on the outside and moist inside.

I tried the flower cutlet with salt, wasabi, and pork cutlet sauce as well. With salt, you could really taste the clean flavor of the meat; a touch of wasabi made it feel crisp and refreshing. The pork cutlet sauce paired well with the crunchy flower cutlet.

Hwaudong noodles served with the set

The hwaudong that came with the set was slightly spicy and tasted a bit like pho — a nice change of pace.

Alternating between the cutlet and the noodles cut through the richness nicely, and they went well together.

Set composition with cabbage salad and rice

With cabbage salad and rice also included, a single set was plenty filling on its own. There are takeout containers below the self-serve corner too, so you can pack up anything you can't finish. We were very full, but we finished everything without leaving a bite :)

Lollipops at the register

There were lollipops at the register too, and our child was thrilled to take two of them. They're also running a receipt review event, in case that's useful.
