Where to park at Caffeine Focus on a weekday, and how the building looks

Caffeine Focus is a fortress-view bakery café on Changnyongdae-ro 80beon-gil in Haenggung-dong. It's a standalone three-story building with quite a spacious layout, and there were seats outside too.

Resident-priority parking zone in front of the café

On weekdays you can use the resident-priority parking zone until 6pm, and that's where we parked! It seemed fairly relaxed on weekdays as long as you arrive before 6, so should be fine. On weekends it'd be easier to use the nearby public parking lot.

Coming inside Caffeine Focus, you order and pay on the first floor.

Going up the stairs to the second and third floors, the atmosphere changes on each floor. That's part of what made it satisfying among the bakery cafés in Haenggung-dong — a comfortable place to settle into one spot without any pressure.

Bakery case displaying house-made ciabatta

This place is known for its house-made ciabatta! With vegan and gluten-free options on the menu, it's a good visit for anyone thinking about their health. Their signature item was the levain plain ciabatta, cold-fermented over a long time with sourdough — the chewiness and flavor were on another level.

They also had a Greek yogurt bowl made with house granola, and cheesecake too. There were scones and muffins as well, so if you visit this fortress-view Haenggung-dong café favorite, Caffeine Focus, try picking a few different items to match your taste!

  • Cardamom granola Greek yogurt bowl ₩5,800

Second-floor tables and the third-floor fortress-view seats

Comfortable second-floor space with table seating

Coming up to the second floor, there was a comfortable space set with tables. It felt great for chatting with friends! They'd used the space more efficiently than I expected.

Third-floor seats with a fortress-wall view

The third floor felt quiet, with a proper view of the fortress wall to enjoy! There were outlets too, so it's good for working. We decided to stay on the third floor. There was also water available at a self-serve bar, and outdoor tables too.

How do the ciabatta sandwich and cardamom Greek yogurt bowl taste?

All the menu items we ordered at Caffeine Focus arrived! The sandwich was bigger than expected — plenty for two to share. And with the fortress view spread out right in front of us, this Haenggung-dong café looked even prettier >.<

A glass of iced caffè latte

We started with the iced caffè latte first. It had been so long since I'd had coffee! The bitterness and the smooth milk came through at the same time, which I loved — and it paired well with the sandwich.

Ciabatta sandwich with basil pesto and jambon

The ciabatta sandwich I'd been curious about at this Haenggung-dong bakery café: it came with basil pesto, fresh tomato, arugula, jambon, and mozzarella cheese.

Cross-section of the two-serving ciabatta sandwich

It's plenty for a full meal, even for two women. The price felt justified. This is the two-serving portion. The ciabatta itself was chewy and light, growing more appealing the more we ate of Caffeine Focus's sandwich.

Cardamom granola Greek yogurt bowl

Last, we tried the cardamom granola Greek yogurt bowl. It came topped with house-made granola and had a chia pudding made with five kinds of berries and chia seeds mixed in.

Eating it this way felt surprisingly filling! It was light yet sweet, and the texture of the chia pudding made it even more delicious to enjoy.

Is Caffeine Focus worth it for lunch in Haenggung-dong?

I was pretty satisfied, enough that I want to come back again. Beautiful from the fortress view alone, plus vegan options, healthy bread, and good coffee — a place where you can stay a long time without any pressure. That was Caffeine Focus, the new fortress-view bakery café favorite in Haenggung-dong, Suwon :D
