I went out in Sangnam-dong, Changwon and ate at Gogit-ri 88beonji — wow, it was so good! The vibe reminded me of Banyajang, plus there were two TVs, so it was great for watching baseball or soccer too.
Oh, and it's a pet-friendly restaurant, but the pet seating and regular seating are separated, which is better for everyone. The fence around the pet zone was cute too, so I think it'd put dog owners at ease. There's even a TV in that seating zone!! You can trust this place, go ahead and try it ❤️ Let me write up the pros and cons in detail below!

Gogit-ri 88beonji Changwon Sangnam Branch is open from 3pm until 3am. A BBQ place open that late into the night... Chuseok is coming up soon, and apparently Wednesday through Saturday it's open until 7am! Parking is supported at a nearby lot when you're a customer!

✔️ Here's the exterior of Gogit-ri 88beonji in Sangnam-dong, Changwon, and the area next to it. It's located in front of Moran Women's Hospital. Right out front there's a small park-like space, which made the meal even nicer.
What do you think — having a park right in front makes the atmosphere that much better, don't you think? I wasn't even planning to drink because the mood was so nice, but I ended up having soju anyway lol T_T
What are the pet-friendly seating zone and group rooms like?
Above is Gogit-ri 88beonji's pet-friendly seating zone! There's a cute little fence and a big TV, so it's really great.
There are two TVs total! The group rooms were also really well set up. If it were me, I'd do a group gathering here lol, because the room didn't feel cramped at all.
✔️ Once you make a reservation, the table comes set up like this when you arrive. If you have a preferred seat, just ask ~ I got the outermost seat at the round table, and it was great.
What's on the menu at Gogit-ri 88beonji?
✔️ The Gogit-ri 88beonji menu has a huge range, from pork belly, half a portion of pork neck, gabrisal, and diced pork jowl to pork ribs, cartilage, pork skin, mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup), bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles), pork kimchi stew, doenjang jjigae, ramyeon, steamed egg, and even draft beer. I had the assorted meat platter, and it was so delicious that I think all the other menu items would be great too. They even have old-school lunch boxes (dosirak).
Side dishes, from pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi) to salted pollack roe
✔️ The basic side dishes at this Sangnam-dong BBQ spot Gogit-ri 88beonji range from lettuce wraps to shredded scallions. There was even pa-kimchi (scallion kimchi) and myeongnan (salted pollack roe) T_T. A lot of places don't have pa-kimchi, or only have it at the self-serve bar!!!
Pre-seared meat and the instant photo printer inside Gogit-ri 88beonji
The meat comes pre-seared, so grilling it yourself was really easy. While the meat was finishing on the grill, I took a photo of the inside of the store and printed it out lol. You just snap the picture with the machine and out pops a paper photo in one second, so everyone should grab a memory shot, hehe. I've only ever seen these in bars, so the fact that they have one at a BBQ place too makes me think the owner might have a real sense for this stuff...?

It's 500 grams for ₩45,000! I thought it was reasonably priced, and the two of us eating it were completely full.
Ugh... the color on that meat is killer. This is definitely a good BBQ spot in Sangnam-dong!!
One thing I really liked about Gogit-ri 88beonji is that they use good quality salt T_T. I don't remember the details, but there was something written about the salt. Once I found out that dipping meat into quality salt is so good... I basically became obsessed with salt.
They had both pa-kimchi and baek-kimchi (white kimchi), which was great to pair with the meat.
Dessert doenjang jjigae — ₩6,000
The doenjang jjigae was a bit pricey for what it was.
The tofu was a little small, but it was a tasty doenjang jjigae, and adding rice and eating it like a drinking-food rice dish was really delicious...
If you're looking for a good BBQ restaurant in Sangnam-dong, a spot for a Sangnam-dong group gathering or work dinner, a pet-friendly restaurant in Sangnam-dong, or a BBQ place with a great atmosphere for drinks, this is really it T_T 😢 ❤️
