Today I've got a review of Childish, a dreamy dessert café that's perfect to pop into after shopping in Seongsu-dong ✨
It's on the 2nd floor directly across from SUBDUED, which is basically a must-shop stop when you're in Seongsu, so the flow is perfect — shop your heart out, then head up for a sweet dessert to help digest 🛍️

What is the second floor of Childish like?
Childish is on the 2nd floor of a building on Yeonmujang-gil, and the natural light is honestly amazing. Climb the stairs up and you're greeted by a gorgeous space flooded with sunshine ☀️
Even on a weekday, true to its hotspot status, there were tons of foreign customers! I could totally see why it's known as a must-visit spot in Seongsu. Plus the building has a clean, comfortable in-store restroom, which made it an ideal spot to rest up after shopping 🫧
Childish menu and prices
Besides the taiyaki series I ordered, Childish was packed with eye-catching, unique dessert options!
The plain salted bread (₩2,500) is made with rice flour, which apparently makes it extra chewy and easier to digest.
From the adorably bite-sized mini plain salted bread (₩900) to the classic sweet-salty combo of pea salted bread (₩3,300), and even hearty meal-replacement options like the jambon-beurre salted bread sandwich (₩7,500) and egg mayo salted bread sandwich (₩5,500) — there's really a wide range to choose from based on your taste.
Especially for hot summer days, the Taiwanese shaved mango bingsu (₩22,900) and Philippine ube bingsu (₩20,900) are said to be popular signature menu items, along with the fresh mango cup bingsu (₩8,900) that's easy to eat on the go — I'm definitely trying the bingsu next visit! With signature drinks like the marshmallow-topped playing-with-fire cream coffee (₩6,900) and the nostalgic yakult slush (₩5,000), this place feels like heaven for dessert lovers ✨

They weren't premade — they grilled them fresh right after I ordered and brought them out warm, which I loved!
Biting into it fresh and hot, the crispy outside and chewy inside were pure art.
Salted bread x taiyaki: made with rice flour and 100% dairy butter, the outside is crispy and the inside chewy, with the buttery flavor and sweet-salty combo being absolutely insane!
Mammoth chewy salted taiyaki: packed with mugwort rice cake, chapssaltteok (chewy rice cake), and red bean butter, giving it a fun chewy texture and being the ultimate sweet-and-nutty treat. It's big, so each bite is super satisfying 🤤

For reference, it's about a 12-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 3, and you can just search 'Childish' in your navigation app to find it. Since the store doesn't have its own parking, if you're driving I'd recommend checking nearby public or paid parking lots ahead of time! Also, it's closed every Monday, so make sure to check the closing day when planning your visit so you don't make a wasted trip 💡
