Euljiro ramen restaurant, weekday dinner reservation: Mentsuru
In short
Mentsuru Euljiro Branch is a hangover ramen (haejang ramen) restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, about a 4-minute walk from Euljiro3(sam)-ga Station Exit 9. On a weekday visit booked for 6 pm through Naver Reservation, motsu ramen (beef tripe ramen) and hormone-don (beef intestine rice bowl) cost 15,000 won each, and when the seasoning tasted too strong the staff brought extra broth to tone it down. The spicy broth tastes like gopchang jeongol (tripe hot pot), which makes Mentsuru Euljiro Branch a fitting hangover cure for Euljiro office workers.

The mornings and evenings have gotten noticeably cooler. My stomach, which is weirdly in sync with the weather, immediately demanded something hot and brothy hahaha, so I went to Mentsuru Euljiro Branch, famous around Euljiro for hangover ramen (haejang ramen).

Where is Mentsuru Euljiro Branch, and what are its hours?
Mentsuru Euljiro Branch is in Jung-gu, Seoul, about a 4-minute walk from Euljiro3(sam)-ga Station Exit 9. ⏰ Hours: 11:00 – 21:30 (last order at 21:00)

Mentsuru Euljiro Branch sits in an alley near Myeongbo Art Hall by Euljiro3(sam)-ga Station! The place proudly leads with the title of a hangover ramen specialist. I booked a weekday 6 pm slot through Naver Reservation.

Kiosk prepayment and the menu at Mentsuru Euljiro Branch
Before stepping inside, you order and pay at the kiosk. The main menu is ramen — shio ramen, shoyu ramen, tori paitan — plus Japanese-style rice bowls like hormone-don and gyudon. We ordered one motsu ramen (beef tripe ramen) and one hormone-don (beef intestine rice bowl). Total: ₩30,000! Split payment is available, and Seoul Pay is accepted too.

What does the Mentsuru Euljiro dining room feel like?
With its wood tones and counter seating, the interior is basically a Japanese ramen shop through and through. The open kitchen has a stainless-steel finish, and I could see for myself how spotlessly it was kept. Please cook something delicious for me..!!!

They're also running a Naver receipt review event. Apparently you get a free drink for leaving a receipt review.

But I got my free drink by agreeing to reservation notifications when I booked. Well, I guess I don't mind getting a few notifications hahahaha.

As a side dish, they serve yuzu-scented pickled radish (danmuji). It was refreshingly tangy and did a great job resetting my palate whenever things got a little heavy.

Motsu ramen (beef tripe ramen), 15,000 won
Motsu ramen (beef tripe ramen, ₩15,000) is Mentsuru Euljiro Branch's signature dish. The main toppings — beef tripe and beef brisket — are seriously generous, plus bean sprouts, chili, green onion, and menma (bamboo shoots).

Too salty? Ask for extra broth at Mentsuru
My friend, who usually likes lighter seasoning, found it a bit salty, so we mentioned it and they brought extra broth. Tasting the broth alone, it seemed to be a chicken-based stock! Adding it evened out the seasoning perfectly. If you normally prefer milder food, just ask — they'll happily give you extra broth..!

Wow— 🍜 One taste and I immediately understood why it's called hangover ramen. Super spicy and hearty with tripe and brisket, adding deep savory richness... it reminded me a bit of Korean gopchang jeongol (grilled tripe hot pot). The spice level was about Shin Ramyun-level, so even a spice wimp like me could handle it comfortably.

Hormone-don (beef intestine rice bowl), 15,000 won
The hormone-don (beef intestine rice bowl, ₩15,000) arrived shortly after.

The main toppings are beef large intestine (daechang) and beef brisket, along with onion, pickled vegetables, green onion, chili, wasabi, and an egg yolk. Break the yolk and mix it all together...

Completely my style-!!! The main ingredients, daechang and brisket, were genuinely generous, and the daechang especially had this irresistible texture straddling chewy and tender. On top of that, they use Mentsuru's own secret sauce, which was sweet-and-salty with a hint of smokiness, striking just the right balance with the ingredients — it was so good.
Is Mentsuru Euljiro a good hangover cure for Euljiro office workers?
This was my first time trying ramen with beef tripe in it, and it reminded me of Korean gopchang jeongol... familiar and spicy in a way that felt perfect for curing a hangover. I have a quiet feeling this place could become packed as the go-to hangover spot for Euljiro office workers the morning after a company dinner.
