Euljiro bone barbecue with rice balls, potato pancake: Eulji Baektan
In short
Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui is a white-charcoal bone barbecue restaurant on the Hipjiro strip in Jung-gu, Seoul, one minute on foot from Exit 12 of Euljiro 3-ga Station. The small portion of baektan ppyeogui (white-charcoal grilled pork bones) with rice balls and potato pancake came so tender the meat slipped straight off the bone, with a sweet-spicy sauce carrying real charcoal smoke. The potato pancake, sliced paper-thin and fried into a flower shape, was better dipped in the bone barbecue sauce than in salt, and Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui is a 100% revisit.

Where is Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui in Euljiro?
Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui is a charcoal bone barbecue restaurant on the 1st floor of 110-2 Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, just a 1-minute walk from Exit 12 of Euljiro 3-ga Station. It's been featured on the show Mat-Issneun Nyeoseokdeul (Tasty Guys), and sits right in the middle of the Hipjiro street, so it's also a great spot for drinks.

This post is about Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui, a great restaurant in Euljiro, Euljiro 3-ga, and Hipjiro. Last week I went to Dongmyo, so this week instead of Dongmyo I came right next door to Euljiro — I heard there's a genuinely great bone bbq place near Euljiro 3-ga Station on the Hipjiro street, so I paid a visit. This place turned out to be a bone bbq restaurant with not just great bone bbq but also potato pancakes with an incredible look.
To get to Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui by subway, it's just a 1-minute walk from Exit 12 of Euljiro 3-ga Station, so it's really close to the station.

Where to park near Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui
Since Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui is so close to the station, parking is tough. I left my car at the Daerim Sangga street parking area (free on weekday and Saturday evenings, and Sundays and public holidays) and walked about 10 minutes. Walking over, I realized there are actually quite a few spots to pull over in the alleys nearby. There are also parking spots on the main road right in front of the restaurant. I ended up leaving my car safely at the Daerim Sangga lot, since I also wanted to look around Euljiro and walk off the meal afterward, haha.
Inside the 1st and 2nd floors, plus opening hours
The 1st floor of Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui has table seating that runs all the way to the back, and there's separate group seating on the 2nd floor, great for gatherings or company dinners. It's open daily from 11:00 to 24:00, with last order at 23:00.

The 2nd floor especially has that distinct Hipjiro cool vibe. Since Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui was on Mat-Issneun Nyeoseokdeul, you can spot autographs from various celebrities on the way upstairs. There's also storage space under the chairs where you can keep your bags or coat.
Menu and how to order by QR code
You can order the Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui menu via QR code. Besides the signature baektan ppyeogui (charcoal-grilled bone meat), there are plenty of drinking snacks like grilled cuttlefish, fried cuttlefish, potato pancake, and chadol odregi, so it's great for drinks too, and there are lunch specials like bone haejangguk (hangover soup) and beef brisket garlic-scape bibimbap, so it works for lunch as well.

You can also get a free canned drink just by leaving a Naver receipt review!
What I ordered
- Baektan ppyeogui (charcoal-grilled bone meat) - small
- Rice ball
- Potato pancake
Side dishes and the rice balls
Before the main bone bbq arrived, some simple side dishes came out first, along with the zero-sugar cider and rice ball I got from the review event. (The water cup here looked kind of cool so I took a photo of it, haha.) Before digging into the bone bbq, I made the rice ball first to eat alongside it. Even on its own, the rice ball is delicious thanks to a mild, mayo-like special sauce mixed in.
How does the small baektan ppyeogui taste?
The small baektan ppyeogui at Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui was so tender the meat practically fell off the bone the moment I picked it up with the tongs, and the spicy-sweet sauce was infused with charcoal smoke. The spice level can also be adjusted.

And then the star of the show, the bone bbq, arrived. It comes with green onion grilled alongside it, and green onion is honestly the best vegetable of all when grilled. Any place that serves grilled green onion is doing something right. The charcoal smell on the bone bbq is already delicious, but the spicy-sweet sauce is what really gets you... I can confidently say this is the best bone bbq I've ever had. Try it with the green onion next to it — the smoky, sweet green onion is the kicker. Green onion and bone bbq are a truly perfect combo.

Of course, the bone bbq and green onion are delicious on their own, but the best way to eat it is piling the picked bone bbq meat onto the rice ball you made earlier. Rice ball really is the perfect partner for bone bbq.
Flower-shaped potato pancake: better in bone barbecue sauce than salt
The potato pancake at Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui is made by slicing the potato thin lengthwise and pan-frying it, and the look is honestly insane. It really resembles a flower. Salt is served as the dipping sauce.

Honestly, the bone bbq and rice ball alone were already filling, but the potato pancake I'd spotted at the entrance had such a crazy look that I ended up ordering it as a side anyway, haha. Dipping it simply in salt is salty, clean, and tasty enough, but honestly the bone bbq sauce that came with the meal is so good that I'd strongly recommend dipping the potato pancake in that instead of the salt.
Final verdict on Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui
Overall, the main bone bbq was genuinely delicious — great charcoal smell, great sauce, and above all, so tender. With the whole restaurant carrying that cool Euljiro vibe and the potato pancake also being great, I'd strongly recommend this as a place to eat or drink in Euljiro-Hipjiro! 100% revisit intent.
