How to get to Uno, a Korean BBQ restaurant near Seolleung Station

Today's spot is Uno, a Korean beef restaurant near Seolleung Station. I'd been here before and remembered it being so good that I had to come back. It's a short walk from Exit 1 of Seolleung Station, so easy to reach by public transit, and the giant red sign makes it impossible to miss.

Interior of Uno's hall tables

It's quite spacious, with separate hall tables and private rooms — perfect for a Seolleung Station work dinner. The rooms probably need advance booking, but we were just there for a meal so we sat in the hall.

Uno's menu and what's in the 800g Uno galbi mixed platter

The menu at this Seolleung Station Korean beef spot. True to a proper Korean BBQ place, it has galbi, tenderloin, sirloin, prawn meat, chuck flap, beef tongue and more, all available as mixed platters if you want to try a variety of cuts. We ordered the Uno galbi mixed platter to sample as much as possible.

The 800g Uno galbi mixed platter served with dry ice

The Uno galbi mixed platter arrives with dry ice — the visual alone, with smoke billowing everywhere, is amazing. The portion looks huge, and at a full 800 grams, it's a good amount for 2–3 people to share.

Side dishes and the sundae hangover soup at Uno

Side dishes included scallion salad, spicy radish salad, mountain garlic leaves, doenjang-seasoned chili peppers, and pickled onions — every single one was delicious alongside the meat! Ask for a refill and the owner happily brings more.

Sundae haejangguk (blood sausage soup) also came as a default side, and spooning it in between bites paired really well.

From diced kkotsal to galbisal: the staff grill everything

Diced kkotsal

First up, diced kkotsal (flower flank steak).

Staff grilling the diced kkotsal

At this Seolleung Station beef spot, staff grill everything for you, so all you have to do is enjoy the food. That makes it great for conversation, which is why it's such a good spot for a Seolleung Station group dinner. And since it's corkage-free, it's also great for bringing good drinks to share with good people.

It looks like all lean meat, but it's not chewy or dry at all — it melts in your mouth. Even better with mountain garlic leaves, another win for Seolleung Station beef.

LA galbi

Next, they laid LA galbi on the grill.

The taste of Korean beef galbi after a while — absolutely the best.

Beef tongue

Beef tongue included in the Uno galbi mixed platter

Next was beef tongue, not something I eat often, but it's such a treat when I do. I was glad the Uno galbi mixed platter included beef tongue.

Dip the beef tongue into this lemon sauce and you get that distinctive crunchy texture and clean flavor — really delicious. The staff pointed out the lemon sauce for us, haha.

Galbisal

Next, galbisal that melts in your mouth.

Seasoned galbisal on the grill

The galbisal's seasoning blended so well with the meat, it was so good. The meat was fresh, not chewy at all — and getting this much variety with 800g of Korean beef for under ₩100,000 makes this a genuinely great-value Seolleung Station spot for a group dinner.

Cold somyeon noodles and the complimentary bingsu

Cold somyeon

Cold somyeon noodles as the meal course
A bowl of tangy cold somyeon noodles

For the meal course, we ordered cold somyeon (thin wheat noodles) — interesting that it's somyeon and not naengmyeon. The tangy cold noodles cut through all the fat from the beef we'd just eaten, letting us finish on a refreshing note.

Dessert bingsu

Dessert bingsu served as a complimentary treat

To top it all off, they even threw in a bingsu (shaved ice dessert) as a service, so we finished the meal with a proper dessert too.

Uno's Chuseok hanwoo gift set: a look at Set B

With Chuseok, the biggest holiday in Korea, coming up soon, this Seolleung Station beef spot sells Chuseok gift sets — the price and composition are both great, so I highly recommend it if you're considering holiday gifts.

I got gift Set B and gave it to some people I owed thanks to, and the beef was so fresh, with three different components in the set, that the reactions were really great. If you're weighing options for a holiday gift set, I'd definitely recommend this one.
