Kari Bundang Jeongja Café Branch is an Indian restaurant in basement level 1 of Dongyang Paragon on the Jeongja Station café street in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. The ₩24,000-per-person brunch course brought a naan-wich (naan sandwich), potato soup, tandoori salad, and palak paneer and korma prawn eaten with butter naan and garlic naan, with a flame kept burning under the curry bowls so they stayed warm to the last bite. With 2-hour parking registration and private rooms, Kari is a solid course meal for a date or a family gathering in Bundang.

With 4,500 won mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) and grilled pineapple from the self-serve bar, Sangnok Hoegwan is strong value for the price.

An order of raw shrimp sashimi came to 12-15 shrimp for 38,000 won, with buttered shrimp heads added for 2,000 won and a plate of sea squirt (meongge) for 15,000 won; the shrimp was springy, turned sweeter the longer you chewed, and had no fishy taste. If you have been curious about the raw shrimp sashimi you keep seeing on Instagram, Suksung Robada-gil is worth the trip.

Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Suwon KT Wiz Park Branch (화덕으로간고등어 수원KT위즈파크점) is a wood-fired grilled fish restaurant on Suil-ro in Jangan-gu, Suwon. On a busy weekend the family ordered the mackerel set and the saury set and helped themselves to the self-serve bar of japchae (glass noodles), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), bibimbap, seaweed soup and lettuce for wrapping. Wrapping the grilled fish in lettuce worked so well at Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo that the table went back for a second plate of lettuce.
