Highline Seongsu Café is a dessert café on the second floor of a building in an alley off Seongdeokjeong 9-gil, near Seoul Forest Station in Seongsu, Seoul. The writer stopped by after work for a mugwort crumble latte and a chocolate matcha brownie, and the crunchy crumble on the mugwort latte paired especially well with the dense brownie topped with matcha ice cream. Highline Seongsu Café is a calmer choice than Seongsu's main café street when you just want to sit and unwind.

Bas Burger Jamwon Branch is a handmade burger restaurant a 5-minute walk from Exit 8 of Nonhyeon Station in Seocho, Seoul. After work, four coworkers shared a Double Bacon Cheeseburger set, a Bas Burger set and two single Bas Burgers, and since James Gam (potato chips) are unlimited for dine-in, they kept refilling from the self-serve bar and topping them with cracked black pepper. The portions were big enough that four full sets weren't needed, making Bas Burger Jamwon Branch a good-value dinner for a group of four.

Uyeon is a solo drinking bar on the 3rd floor of a building on Toegye-ro 27-gil in Euljiro, Jung-gu, Seoul.
