Today I'm introducing a great spot for enjoying delicious samgyeopsal (pork belly) — Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch. I got to try samgyeopsal, mokssal (pork neck), and cheongyeopsal all at once, and since the staff grilled everything for us, the meal felt totally relaxed and satisfying. Here's my honest review for anyone looking for a good Suwon Station Korean BBQ restaurant!
Location of Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch
Ssosam 208 is close to Suwon Station's Rodeo Street, so it's easy to get to by public transport. Since you can go straight from dinner to drinks around Suwon Station, it also makes a solid spot for meeting up with friends.
Outside and inside atmosphere

The exterior had a warm, cozy feel that caught my eye, and since it's on the first floor, I found it right away without any trouble.

The inside was bigger than I expected. There were plenty of tables set up for groups to dine together, making it look like a great choice for group meals or gatherings.

We had made a reservation beforehand, so the table was already set up when we arrived, and we could start eating comfortably right away. As mealtime approached, empty seats filled up fast.

They also had a range of handy items available, like drinking game sets for rent and Febreze. The gender-separated restrooms were kept clean too, which made everything easy to use.
Menu and prices

The menu was well put together, from the signature meat dishes to sides and rice/noodle dishes that go great with them. What sets Ssosam 208 apart is that they grill the meat on a stone plate heated to 208 degrees. If you write a review, you also get lava fondue cheese for free.
What we ordered

Once we ordered, the basic side dishes were set out neatly right away. The volcano-shaped grill plate really caught the eye.

Kimchi rice noodle soup
Ssosam 208 serves kimchi rice noodle soup as a default side. Even though it's a basic item, it came loaded with more ingredients than I expected, and the broth had a nice spicy kick, making it great to spoon up between bites of meat. It also went well with a drink, and I was glad we could get a refill.

Mixed stone platter (medium) + samgyeopsal (₩48,500+₩15,000)
The mixed platter comes with samgyeopsal, mokssal, and cheongyeopsal, so you get to try a variety of cuts. We were really hungry when we arrived, so we added extra samgyeopsal. The meat's color looked fresh and the texture looked great.

Since we had a lot of samgyeopsal, they started grilling that first. The staff checked the stone plate's temperature with a thermometer and put the meat on once it hit 208 degrees. The plate was heated through so well that the meat cooked quickly and evenly, and it felt like the juices were well sealed in.

They stacked up the golden-brown samgyeopsal piece by piece, and the tower of meat on the stone plate looked seriously impressive!

Samgyeopsal
The samgyeopsal was cut just the right thickness — not too thick or thin. The texture was nice and tender, and it was clearly juicy inside. True to a good Suwon samgyeopsal spot, the meat itself tasted great, with just the right balance of lean meat and fat — really delicious.
While we were enjoying the samgyeopsal, the mokssal and cheongyeopsal got grilled quickly too, and soon the table was piled high with food. Best of all, since the staff grilled everything from start to finish, all we had to do was sit back and eat.

Mokssal (pork neck)
This cut had a nice, satisfying chew to it. Even though it's mostly lean meat, it wasn't dry at all and had a tender texture that made it easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. If you want something on the lighter side, I'd personally recommend the mokssal.
Cheongyeopsal
This was my first time trying cheongyeopsal, and it reminded me of hangjeongsal (pork jowl). The more I chewed, the richer the nutty flavor got, and the fattiness wasn't overwhelming at all — I kept reaching for more.

Lava fondue cheese
I worried the cheese might be a bit heavy, but it had a slight spicy kick that actually cut through the richness of the meat. It reminded me of rosé tteokbokki sauce — even dipping the meat generously into the fondue cheese didn't feel greasy at all. The spicy-yet-smooth cheese flavor paired really well with the samgyeopsal — very satisfying!

Paldo Bibimmyeon (₩4,500)
Adding kimchi to the bibimmyeon (spicy mixed noodles) brought an extra layer of savory flavor. The noodles held their chewy texture well without going soft. The spicy-tangy noodles were tasty on their own, but eating them alongside the meat was the real winning combo — a menu item that never disappoints.

Basalt-stone kimchi fried rice (₩6,000)
To really round out the meal after all that meat, we ordered fried rice too. Even on its own, the kimchi fried rice had a nice nutty flavor that made it tasty.

Dipping it into the leftover lava fondue cheese made the flavor even richer, with the spicy, smooth cheese adding another layer. If you order the lava fondue cheese, don't just dip the meat in it — make sure to try it with the kimchi fried rice too!
Final thoughts
From the mixed stone platter, where you can enjoy samgyeopsal, mokssal, and cheongyeopsal all at once, to the lava fondue cheese, bibimmyeon, and kimchi fried rice, this was a satisfying, generously portioned Suwon Korean BBQ restaurant. Grilling the meat on a stone plate heated to 208 degrees meant every bite stayed juicy and tender, and having the staff grill it all for us made the meal effortless. If you're looking for a Suwon Station Korean BBQ restaurant with a good variety of meats and sides, or a Suwon Station samgyeopsal spot where you can relax and let the staff do the grilling, I'd recommend Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch!
