Hi, it's So-jjang~! Today I'm reviewing Mibundang near Dongtan Station, a place I visit often. It's always crowded for lunch and dinner, but the turnover is fast and you can quietly enjoy a healthy meal, which is why I keep coming back haha.

Mibundang serves Vietnamese pho adapted to Korean tastes. I heard that "mibun" means rice noodles in Chinese.

How to order at Mibundang Dongtan Station: kiosk, plus half-cooked takeout
At Mibundang Dongtan Station you order via kiosk. You can dine in, get fully-cooked takeout, or half-cooked takeout — the half-cooked option looks great for eating at home too~! There was a bit of a wait this time, so I stood in line up front.

Mibundang menu: 5 kinds of pho and the sides
Here's the Mibundang menu board haha. There's Vietnamese pho (brisket point pho, brisket pho, brisket point + brisket pho, brisket point + brisket + tendon pho, tendon pho), and the side menu has sweet potato jjajo, scallop jjajo, potato-wrapped shrimp, buffalo wings, wedding siu mai, and an assorted fried platter. This time I had the brisket point + brisket pho and the sweet potato jjajo!!

Why everyone talks quietly at Mibundang
I heard Mibundang was created according to the owner's wish to make a space where anyone can eat in a quiet, comfortable atmosphere~! So the house rule is to talk quietly enough that the person next to you can't hear you haha. It's the perfect spot for stressed-out office workers who want to eat comfortably without worrying about anyone around them.

Pre-cooked noodles mean the pho arrives in minutes
I watched the cooking while I waited~! It came out just a few minutes after ordering, and I wondered how the noodles cooked so fast — turns out they pre-cook the noodles, then just reheat and serve them right away.

Above each table there are a total of 3 types of sauce ready to go. There are hair ties too~ and you can use the cutlery hygienically haha.

Sweet potato jjajo: packed with purple filling
Here's the sweet potato jjajo I ordered as a side~~ Sweet potato jjajo is love haha, it's distinctive for that purple color, like purple sweet potato.

It's stuffed full of sweet potato filling inside. It's really hot, so you might burn your tongue — blow on it and let it cool before eating.

Brisket point + brisket pho: wide slices served uncut
Usually when you order pho, sometimes it's mostly noodles or bean sprouts, but Mibundang piles on the meat too haha. You get proper protein in one meal!!!! The thin braised-style meat is the brisket point, and the flat, thick-cut meat is the brisket. It varies by branch, but at Mibundang Dongtan Station the brisket comes uncut, in big thick slices.

What the broth tastes like: clean and mild
The broth itself is totally mild and delicious~ It's tuned exactly to Korean tastes!! It's the kind of broth that's perfect for curing a hangover too. I'm not usually picky about pho unless it's the smell of cilantro, but between a deep bone-based broth and a completely clean-tasting one, I lean toward the latter, and Mibundang's broth is exactly the most basic, cleanest, mildest kind~~

Dipping the meat generously in the hot sauce makes it absolutely delicious.. The meat was mild and not tough at all~~ You could pick brisket point or brisket depending on your preference, but if you want to try both, I'd recommend going with brisket point + brisket like I did!!?

The portion was really huge, so I was super full that day... If you want a filling bowl of pho or you like clean-tasting pho, I recommend Mibundang~
One tip before you go
Right next to Mibundang Dongtan Station there's a bakery favorite called Hayan Pungcha (하얀풍차), so if you grab bread there for dessert, that's a complete meal for the day!!!
