Milmyeon and dwaeji gukbap four-dish sampler near Busan Station
In short
Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is a Korean restaurant in Dong-gu, Busan, near Busan Station, serving milmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) alongside dwaeji gukbap (pork bone soup). Ordering bibim milmyeon, mul milmyeon, dumplings, and dwaeji gukbap together let each dish play its own role — spicy noodles, cool broth, and hot soup. Looking for good food near Busan Station, I kept going back and forth — I wanted milmyeon, but I didn't want to give up dwaeji gukbap either.

Since I was in Busan, I felt like I had to have dwaeji gukbap (pork bone soup), but Busan also means cool, refreshing milmyeon (buckwheat noodles), haha. This time, instead of picking one, I went to Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap (영동밀면&돼지국밥), where you can have both in one sitting. What I ordered that day: bibim milmyeon, milmyeon, dumplings, and dwaeji gukbap!

It felt like almost every signature Busan dish gathered onto one table, which made it great for a group to visit and share bits of everything.

Milmyeon and gukbap in one place near Busan Station
There are so many dwaeji gukbap and milmyeon restaurants around Busan Station that it's easy to get stuck deciding where to go.

Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap makes its concept clear right from the name, haha. It serves both milmyeon and dwaeji gukbap, so it's especially convenient when the people you're with want different things.

I liked that when one person wants hot soup and another wants cool noodles, you don't have to go find two separate restaurants. So instead of picking just one, we ordered a whole range — bibim milmyeon, regular milmyeon, dumplings, and dwaeji gukbap.
Bibim milmyeon: spicy and tangy, easy to love
First up, bibim milmyeon.

The chewy milmyeon noodles get tossed with a sauce that instantly wakes up your appetite.

It's a different experience from slurping down the cool broth version — here the seasoning soaks right into the noodles, so if you like a bolder flavor, bibim milmyeon is the way to go.
It was especially good paired with the dumplings.

Take a bite of bibim milmyeon, then a dumpling, and the spicy sauce flows right into the plain, mild dumpling — a combo that kept pulling my chopsticks back.
I get now why milmyeon places always seem to offer dumplings too, haha.
In Busan, cool milmyeon is a must
And of course, milmyeon.

Swirling the noodles through the cold, refreshing broth felt totally different from the bibim version. If bibim milmyeon is about the seasoning, milmyeon is about enjoying the cool broth and noodles together — I was glad we ordered both.

After a lot of walking around Busan, or on a hot day, this is exactly the kind of cool noodle dish you start craving. It also seemed like a good, light option to start a trip near Busan Station or grab before catching a train.
Dumplings alongside milmyeon, of course
We ordered dumplings too. Milmyeon alone can feel a bit light, but adding dumplings made the whole meal much more filling.
They're great on their own, but personally I thought they paired especially well with bibim milmyeon, and were also nice alternating with the cool milmyeon broth. If you're visiting with several people, ordering one plate of dumplings to share in the middle works well.
Especially when the bibim milmyeon sauce felt a bit strong, a bite of dumpling reset the palate — the combination just worked.
Finishing with hot dwaeji gukbap

And of course, no Busan meal is complete without dwaeji gukbap. After the two milmyeon dishes, one spoonful of warm broth completely shifted the mood.
Eating cool milmyeon and hot dwaeji gukbap side by side might sound like an odd pairing, but in practice, because they're so different, it kept the meal from feeling repetitive.

If someone in your group isn't a fan of cold food, they can go for dwaeji gukbap, and if someone prefers noodles over soup, milmyeon is right there — great for choosing dishes easily with family or a bigger group.
More than anything, on a Busan trip you often end up debating milmyeon versus dwaeji gukbap — at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap, you don't have to choose, haha, and that was the biggest plus.
After ordering all four dishes together
To recap what we ate that day: bibim milmyeon + milmyeon + dumplings + dwaeji gukbap, four dishes total.
- Bibim milmyeon: when you're craving something spicy
- Milmyeon: when you want something cool and refreshing
- Dumplings: pairs well alongside milmyeon
- Dwaeji gukbap: warm and filling
Each dish had a clear role of its own. Unlike a place that specializes in just one item, it was memorable to be able to sample a range of Busan's most popular foods all in one spot.
It's also close to Busan Station, so it seems like a solid choice whether you're grabbing your first meal after arriving in Busan or a bite before catching the train home.
If you want both milmyeon and dwaeji gukbap near Busan Station, or you're visiting with a group whose tastes don't line up, give Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap a try. Ordering a spread of bibim milmyeon, milmyeon, dumplings, and dwaeji gukbap to share, like we did, made for a proper taste of Busan :)
