In short
Jipbul Taebaek Suwon Ingye Branch is a straw and charcoal seared beef rib restaurant on Nahyeseok-gil in Ingye-dong, Suwon, Gyeonggi. Visiting for an anniversary, the couple ordered two servings of marinated prime ribs with full staff grilling service, plus tacos from a review event and bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) to finish. With sauces ranging from black sesame salt to soy-brewed beef sauce, even a single bite of meat came in many different flavors.

This Ingye-dong BBQ restaurant is where you can get these gorgeous prime ribs — a real favorite on Nahyeseok-gil.
That prime rib visual is incredible, right? We visited for our anniversary and ate so well, so let me start the review haha.

The atmosphere and self-serve bar
As a well-known BBQ spot in Ingye-dong, it was packed in the evening! The dining room was spacious and clean, and nice and cool, which put me in a good mood the moment we walked in!
The wood-toned interior really matches the name Jipbul Taebaek haha.

Jipbul Taebaek on Nahyeseok-gil also had a neatly stocked self-serve bar! You can grab extra side dishes anytime. Kimchi, lettuce, garlic, and peppers all pair so well with the meat haha.

A tray piled high with side dishes and sauces
First, the side dishes came out on one huge tray — isn't the visual amazing? I was surprised to see so many different dishes all served together on one big tray!
You could really tell they put a lot of care into the side dishes, fitting for a well-known BBQ place in Ingye-dong haha.
Kimchi, lettuce, fresh kimchi salad, potato salad, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) — plenty of side dishes good enough to stand on their own.
And instead of just plain salt, they gave us black sesame salt, shiitake, and even angelica pesto — such a unique lineup of sauces!

The kimchi and bracken fern also looked so appetizing! You grill the kimchi and bracken along with the meat on the pan.

The wrapping greens were so fresh too haha. Perilla leaves and lettuce are essential with BBQ, and these were clearly fresh, not wilted at all!

Two servings of marinated prime ribs, grilled by staff
Jipbul Taebaek's signature is beef ribs seared first over rice straw and charcoal! So we ordered two servings of marinated prime ribs haha. They select the flavorful No. 6–8 flower ribs, sear them instantly at 1,000°C straw fire to lock in the juices while adding a subtle straw-fire aroma!
The staff grilled everything for us, so it was so easy to eat! A top-notch grilling service, free of charge, at this Ingye-dong BBQ restaurant haha.
They first carefully wiped down the grill with beef fat, then laid the prime ribs on to cook. Grilling the bracken and kimchi alongside filled the air with such a delicious sizzle.

They cut the ribs into bite-sized pieces for us, so all we had to do was pick them up haha. Watching the meat slice so tenderly off such big rib bones, I knew this was truly tender beef rib.
Even though it's marinated prime ribs, the marinade flavor wasn't overpowering — just the right amount, so it never got too rich or salty.
It's clearly a brand built on countless trials and endless research to find the perfect marinade to match the ribs haha.

The beef was so tender, with zero gamey smell and a wonderfully savory taste..! The kimchi and bracken cut through any richness, and the well-grilled mushrooms had a chewy, meat-like texture too haha.

From black sesame salt to mushroom pesto
There were so many sauces and sides showcasing Taebaek's character — coal miner's black sesame salt, soy-brewed beef sauce, angelica pesto, and mushroom pesto — that even a single bite of meat gave you a range of different flavors!

The basic black sesame salt surprised me — not too salty, but wonderfully savory haha. The black color was unusual, but the flavor was the best.

Tacos from the review event
On top of that, this Ingye-dong BBQ restaurant gave us tacos through a review event! They served guacamole and tortillas, and dipping these in salsa was so delicious haha.

Loading a tortilla with plenty of guacamole, a piece of meat, and a dip of soy-brewed sauce was also amazing.
Absolutely calls for a beer haha. The meat itself is so good that it tasted great no matter how we ate it!

Finishing the meal with bibim naengmyeon
We were craving something more substantial, so we ordered bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), and I was surprised again by how upscale it looked haha. The egg garnish on top really showed how carefully the dish was made!

The bibim naengmyeon was sweet and tangy with chewy noodles — so delicious. Cool bibim naengmyeon wrapped up with meat is the ultimate combo haha. With top-quality prime ribs and a variety of side dishes, it was such a satisfying meal!
If you're searching for a great BBQ restaurant in Ingye-dong or a spot for a work dinner there, definitely check out Jipbul Taebaek on Nahyeseok-gil!!
