Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch

Solo dining king Kim Deok-bong is back!! I suddenly craved the udon-and-pork-cutlet combo, so I went for a solo late-night meal at Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch. I was hungry at night and wanted to go grab something, but most places were closing at that hour, so I was sad... But Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch is open 24 hours!! I visited a little after 9 pm, and even at that hour there were quite a lot of people. Actually it was almost completely full... A really popular spot! Still, I bravely ate alone.

Where is Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch, and is it really open 24 hours?

Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch is located at 1F Bowoo System Building, 90 Samhaksa-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul, near Exit 2 of Seokchon Gobun Station, and it's open 24 hours. Parking is available right in front of the restaurant.

Since it's near Seokchon Lake, it's great to walk around the lake and then come eat. The biggest advantage is that being open 24 hours means you never have to worry about timing! Totally recommend it if you suddenly crave something in broth late at night or want udon for a midnight snack 👍👍

Inside seating and outdoor tables: nearly full at 9 pm

The Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch space was bigger than expected, with quite a lot of seating. I went in past 9 pm and it was almost completely full.

🏠 Inside/outside the restaurant — I went in and was surprised the space was bigger than I expected.

Since it's a 24-hour udon place, I imagined something small and cramped like those chain gimbap spots with just a few tables, but here there were quite a lot of seats and it was spacious! The inside was kept neat and clean, and there's a dedicated parking lot and outdoor tables too.

It was also surprising that even at past 9 pm, when I visited, it was almost completely full... Must be a popular spot!

How to order at the kiosk and use the self-serve bar

At Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch, indoor tables order through the kiosk at each table, while outdoor tables need to pay directly at the counter beforehand.

For my solo meal I ordered gakgi udon + old-style pork cutlet. Eating alone but ordering udon and pork cutlet, haha. But both looked delicious. +There's a review event — do a Naver receipt review and get food, so give it a try!

After ordering, water/side dishes and so on are at the self-serve bar haha.

Gakgi udon: broth that tastes like odeng-tang

The gakgi udon (thick-noodle udon) came in a big bowl right off the bat, so the portion was genuinely generous, and the broth was perfectly seasoned. 📍Gakgi udon + old-style pork cutlet

🍜 Gakgi udon — the bowl itself was big to begin with. The portion is genuinely generous.

And the broth! I'm someone who cares more about the broth than the noodles when eating udon, and the broth here was really well seasoned.

While eating, I thought this would be a perfect drinking-snack broth. You know how at a pub you order odeng-tang (fish cake soup) to go with your drinks? Exactly that vibe! The noodle portion wasn't small either, so the udon alone would be plenty for a full meal.

Old-style pork cutlet: big portion, crisp batter

The old-style pork cutlet was genuinely large and the breading was super crispy. Ordering it alongside the gakgi udon meant both portions were sizeable, so I ended up extremely full.

🍽️ Old-style pork cutlet — and the pork cutlet! This thing is really big!

Plate of large old-style pork cutlet

Eating solo, I ordered it along with the udon, and both portions were substantial enough that I got extremely full.

Above all, the breading is super crispy. It's a bit disappointing when pork cutlet breading goes soggy, but here the outside was crispy, which I loved!

Hot udon broth + crispy old-style pork cutlet. Absolutely delicious.
