Ogeum-dong bakery café with a self-serve oven for salt bread: Grid
In short
Grid Cafe is a bakery café at 146 Macheon-ro in Ogeum-dong, Songpa, Seoul, about a 10-minute walk from Ogeum Station Exit 2. On a weekend afternoon we ordered the plain salt bread (3,000 won) and an egg tart with an Americano, lemonade and strawberry latte, and reheated the bread ourselves in the self-serve oven on the shop's shelf. With eight kinds of salt bread and a posted timetable of when each batch comes out, Grid Cafe is worth a second visit in the morning.

I had somewhere to be in Ogeum-dong, Songpa this weekend, and since I was already out, I figured I'd stop by a spot known for great bread — Grid Cafe (그리드 카페, also written GRID BAKERY)!
I'd heard the salt bread and egg tarts were famous among Ogeum Station cafés, so I went in with some expectations — and spoiler: I'm definitely going back haha. I took a ton of photos, so let me walk you through it!

How to walk to Grid Cafe from Ogeum Station Exit 2
Grid Cafe sits right on Macheon-ro at 146 Macheon-ro, 1st floor, Songpa-gu, Seoul, so it's really easy to spot — there's a big sign reading COFFEE & FRUIT TEA under the GRID CAFE name across the top of the building! If you're taking public transit, it's a walk from Ogeum Station — Naver Map puts it at about 823m from Exit 2. Budget a little over 10 minutes on foot.
📍 Address: 146 Macheon-ro, 1st floor, Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea (about a 10-minute walk from Ogeum Station Exit 2)
There's a wooden bench out front with two chalkboard signs beside it — and these aren't just menu boards, they're the bread baking schedule, which made me stop and look twice!

A big sign by the door lists the hours: open at 9am, close at 6pm, closed Mondays! Noting this here so nobody makes a wasted Monday trip like some people probably have~

When does fresh bread come out at Grid Cafe?
This is what sets Grid Cafe apart from other bakeries — they mix and bake everything fresh each morning, so each item has its own scheduled release time. The chalkboard out front and the sign inside both spell it out, so if you time your visit right, you can catch bread straight out of the oven!
- Tarts: 09:00 (egg tart, chocolate tart, cheese tart, corn tart)
- Scones: 09:00 (gourmet butter scone, apple cinnamon jam scone)
- Salt bread: 09:00 (plain salt bread)
- Salt bread: 10:30 (streusel salt bread, mocha salt bread, pollack roe & gim salt bread, garlic butter salt bread)
- Salt bread: 11:00 (crack salt bread, melon salt bread, fresh cream salt bread, basil pepperoni sandwich)
- Ciabatta: 09:00 (plain, olive, fig, sunset arugula, jambon-beurre sandwich)
- Ciabatta: 10:00 (quattro cheese, red bean butter) / 11:00 (pizza ciabatta)
- White bread loaf: 12:00 (plain white bread)

At the bottom of the sign it says, 'If egg tarts and salt bread sell out early, small additional batches will be made,' and Naver's business info also notes the shop may close early when bakery items run out — so if you're heading over late, keep that in mind! We went in the afternoon and luckily the salt bread and egg tarts were still around~
What the Grid Cafe space feels like inside
Walking in, the order counter and display case run along the right side. Wood-toned interior with soft lighting — nothing flashy, just calm. Toward the back you can see a glassed-in baking room, which made it click that yes, they really do bake in-house.

The display case had salt bread, ciabatta and tarts sorted by type, each with a name tag and price tag, which made choosing easy! Up top there were also packaging boxes stacked and ready.

How to use the self-serve oven at Grid Cafe
My favorite thing about Grid Cafe was the self-serve oven~ There's a small oven on a shelf in the shop where you can warm up whatever bread you bought yourself! A whiteboard right next to it spells out exactly how to use it.
- How to use it: put the bread in directly (no plate) → set the timer to the listed time → carefully take it out
- Cautions: never put in a container, don't change the temperature or function settings
- Items that can't be reheated: apple cinnamon jam scone, jambon-beurre sandwich, red bean butter ciabatta, fresh cream & melon salt bread

There was also a neatly folded blanket on the same shelf, handy to grab when it's cold! Little touches like this quietly make you smile~
Grid Cafe menu and drink prices
You order at a kiosk next to the counter. The screen is split into Coffee / Non-Coffee / Frappe / Bakery tabs, which made it easy to browse! There's also a separate paper menu.

Here's what the coffee prices looked like.
- Americano: ₩3,900
- Café latte: ₩4,400
- Vanilla bean latte: ₩4,900
- Caramel macchiato: ₩4,900
- Café mocha: ₩6,000
- Cappuccino (hot only): ₩4,400
- Cold brew (ice only): ₩4,100
- 3 signature drinks (nutty cream shot, Grid cream shot, vanilla cream cold brew): ₩5,500 each
For non-coffee, it's strawberry latte ₩6,000, Earl Grey tea latte ₩4,500, choco latte ₩5,500, organic Boseong matcha latte ₩5,500, lemonade ₩5,000, and grapefruit-ade ₩5,000. You can choose your beans among Old Rock (nutty), Jaldwaegashina (light acidity), or decaf! It also said Americanos get ₩1,000 off for takeout.
Eight kinds of salt bread at this Songpa bakery café
There's a reason people specifically seek out Grid Cafe when hunting for Songpa café salt bread. Salt bread ₩3,000, crack salt bread ₩3,000, garlic butter salt bread ₩3,500, streusel salt bread ₩3,600, pollack roe & gim salt bread ₩3,700, mocha salt bread ₩3,800, fresh cream salt bread ₩4,300, melon salt bread ₩4,500 — that's eight kinds of salt bread alone!
Ciabatta ranged from plain ₩3,000 to quattro cheese ₩5,000, the jambon-beurre sandwich was ₩8,500, and the plain white bread loaf was ₩4,000. When we visited, quite a few items had sold-out signs on them~ The popular ones clearly go fast!

There's also a poster in the shop explaining the difference between the moist, buttery SOFT type and the thin, crispy-crusted CRACK type. I learned here for the first time that salt bread has its own style debate haha.
What we ordered at Grid Cafe
We ordered salt bread, an egg tart, and three drinks! Everything came on a tray with a plate and fork already set up, so we could dig in as soon as we sat down~

For drinks we picked an Americano, lemonade, and strawberry latte. The lemonade had a whole lemon slice in it, and the strawberry latte had so much strawberry pulp you could see the chunks — looked refreshing just to look at!

Honest verdict on the salt bread and egg tart
First, the egg tart! It passes just on looks alone, with deep caramelized brown spots across the top. Cutting it with a fork revealed custard so full and soft it looked like it might spill out. The pastry shell had a shattering, flaky crunch, while the filling was rich and sweet — that contrast was genuinely great!

The salt bread has coarse salt crystals studded across the surface, and pulling it apart by hand revealed a white, richly layered interior. Chewy on the outside, fluffy inside — every bite of salty crunch brought a wave of buttery flavor, so honestly one wasn't quite enough lol.
Alternating bites with the sweet egg tart, neither got old! I'd recommend that combo.
Parking at Grid Cafe on weekdays and weekends
It's worth knowing about parking at Grid Cafe ahead of time! Naver's business info also notes that weekday parking isn't available, and for weekend parking you should use the lot behind the shop.
Sure enough, walking around the back there was space for a few cars~ It's not a huge lot, so if you're going on a weekday, I'd recommend taking public transit or finding a nearby paid parking lot!

Is Grid Cafe worth a visit in Ogeum-dong?
Posting the exact bread baking schedule and actually baking to it every day felt like Grid Cafe's way of showing confidence! With eight kinds of Songpa café salt bread alone, plus ciabatta, tarts, and scones, you could go multiple times and try something different each visit~ Being able to warm bread up yourself in the self-serve oven was also a nice touch you don't see at most bakeries.
The one downside is no weekday parking. Still, it's walkable from Ogeum Station, so next time I'm planning to go in the morning to catch fresh crack salt bread and melon salt bread. If you're looking for a good bakery among Ogeum-dong cafés or Ogeum Station cafés, this one's worth a visit!
