Pangyo pasta restaurant for a Saturday morning table for two: Andover

At 11:30am on a Saturday, I went to Andover on the Baekhyeon-dong café street in Pangyo. I found it while searching for pasta restaurants in Pangyo, and to cut to the chase — the food was great, but the space and service made me feel just as good.

The Baekhyeon-dong café street already has a slightly foreign vibe from the alleyways alone, but Andover in particular felt especially quiet and peaceful. I visited in September, so the weather was really nice, and sure enough, the outdoor terrace seats were already full.

Where is Andover in Pangyo, and where do you park?

Andover sits down an alley off Pangyoyeok-ro 10beon-gil, in the Baekhyeon-dong café street. I used a nearby public parking lot. The café street's alleys are so pretty that even the walk from the parking lot to Andover felt like part of the date.

Inside Andover: a white, black and wood dining room

Andover's exterior was already pretty, but the interior was even more my style. Overall it's a white + black + wood combination, so it's clean but not cold — it had a warm feeling to it.

From the semi-open kitchen where you can catch a glimpse of the cooking, to the photos on the walls, the interior props, and even the tableware — every detail felt considered.

Even things like the self-service corner or the drink fridge didn't feel just plopped down there; they matched the overall mood.

Andover even sells its own goods, and even those were cute haha. You could tell this was a place that put real thought into the whole space.

What two people ordered at Andover: three plates

There were only two of us, but we ordered three dishes haha. In the end, we finished every single one, not a scrap left.

Shrimp bisque pasta, 26,000 won

First, I was surprised by the size of the shrimp. They were so plump and big I wondered if these were some kind of giant shrimp — satisfying just to look at.

Since it's a bisque sauce, I expected the strong flavor of shrimp guts, but it wasn't fishy at all — it was nutty with deep umami. It was also slightly spicy, which I liked even more. The noodles especially stood out to me.

They had a chewy, plump texture that stayed springy all the way to the last bite instead of going soft. I scraped up every last bit of that rich sauce.

Fresh basil oil pasta, 27,000 won

This one had a completely different mood. It's made with house-made basil pesto, and the basil aroma was really fresh and fragrant. And here too — the shrimp — six huge shrimp, no less. We kept saying to each other how generous the shrimp portion was haha.

The noodles were chewy here too, and eating this in between bites of the richer bisque pasta felt refreshing — the pairing worked really well.

The plating was pretty too, so it lifted my mood the moment it landed on the table.

Andover lasagna, 650g for 29,000 won

And last was the lasagna. This one was genuinely delicious, I'm not even exaggerating. There was a natural sweetness from the tomatoes themselves, and the balance between the rich ragu sauce, béchamel, and cheese was really good.

The meat especially wasn't just finely ground — you could bite into chunky pieces here and there, which made it feel much heartier.

Even though we were already pretty full from two pastas, I kept reaching for more. In the end, the two of us cleared all three dishes like we'd literally licked the plates clean haha.

Is Andover a good date spot in Pangyo?

Honestly, Pangyo has plenty of nice-looking Western restaurants, but Andover wasn't just about pretty interiors. Staff checked in on us during the meal to see if anything was uncomfortable, and I also saw them attending to a table with a baby right next to us — genuinely kind service.

On a nice day, sitting on the terrace would be lovely, and the calm interior also works well for a date or a blind date. Of the three dishes we ordered — shrimp bisque pasta, fresh basil oil pasta, and lasagna — we were satisfied with all three.

The fact that the two of us ordered three dishes, kept saying we were full, and still finished every bite pretty much says it all haha. If you're looking for a good-atmosphere pasta restaurant for a date on the Baekhyeon-dong café street in Pangyo, Andover is worth a visit.
