Egg tarts and bakery items from Grid Cafe in Ogeum-dong, Songpa

I'm a card-carrying member of the Korean Bread-Lover's Association 🥐 Today I came to Ogeum-dong hunting for a good egg tart spot.

Cozy exterior of Grid Cafe

[Grid Cafe] has a cozy, warm feel to it.

Please note the times when fresh bread comes out 🥐 The tarts are genuinely delicious, so if you want your pick, go in the morning if you can, haha.

Drinks include coffee, non-coffee, and frappes, and apparently the coffee uses Fritz Coffee beans ☕️ The coffee was tasty too and paired well with the bakery items, haha. Bakery items are ordered via kiosk!!

The variety is honestly wild 😳 From loaf bread to ciabatta, salt bread, egg tarts — the bakery lineup was way more diverse than I expected.

What's in the Grid Cafe bakery showcase

There's more bread on display in the showcase too 🥖 If something's missing, it just means it's sold out!

No.1 egg tart, No.2 salt bread. There were two plain (no cream) salt bread types — the classic salt bread and the crack salt bread 🧂

No.3 olive ciabatta — there was a huge range of salt bread and ciabatta..!! Some ciabattas are meal breads, and some can be eaten more like dessert, haha.

Cream-filled salt bread and raw wheat bread on display

I should've gotten this one ㅠㅠ 😭 There was also a cream-filled salt bread, but the melon salt bread was sold out when I visited. There's also raw wheat bread fermented with lactic acid bacteria!

Egg tart vs cheese egg tart: which one wins?

First up, this place's No.1 egg tart 🤤 It's actually way heavier than it looks in photos when you pick it up..!!

No.2 cheese tart! This one was also super heavy, probably because it's packed with cream cheese inside 🧀

Here's the cross-section! Completely packed inside 👀 The pastry was crisp and the filling moist — such a great combo ㅠㅠ

Lined up like this, they look so good haha 🤤

The No.1 egg tart really has flecks of vanilla bean throughout, and the filling is super moist and soft. I love cheesecake so I expected the cheese tart to win, but the plain egg tart actually turned out tastier, haha 🥚

Crack salt bread and mocha salt bread

Got the crack salt bread instead of the regular one! 🥐

Crack salt bread with a crisp bottom

True to the name 'crack,' the bottom is completely crisp and buttery ㅠㅠ If you like salt bread, you'll probably love this texture 😋

This one's the mocha salt bread, so it has mocha filling brushed on top ☕️

Mocha salt bread topped with mocha filling

It's not as crisp as the crack salt bread, but the softness typical of a mocha bun is nicely balanced out by the buttery flavor of the salt bread — the combo worked really well..!!

Red bean butter ciabatta

The heaviest of them all, the red bean butter ciabatta 🧈

There's literally a whole slab of butter inside, but it's not greasy at all, and the red bean paste still has some texture to the grains without being too sweet. If you like red bean butter breads, this one's recommended too, haha 😋

Seating and house rules at Grid Cafe

Some seats are visible from outside like this 🌿

The window seats are set up as bar tables so solo customers can sit comfortably!

The inside doesn't have that many tables, but it still has a cozy vibe good for chatting with a group ☺️

One drink per person is required!! For laptop use, it's a 2-hour limit, haha! Outside food isn't allowed.

Points, gift boxes and the restroom

Grid Cafe's point stamp information

They also do point stamps, so regulars who come often will love that 💳

Tarts also come in gift boxes 🎁 Seemed like a good option for gifting, haha.

Final verdict on Grid Cafe in Ogeum-dong

💡 If you're looking for a good egg tart spot in Songpa, Grid Cafe is worth a visit 🥐 The filling was moist and the pastry was crisp, so I genuinely enjoyed it. The salt bread and ciabatta lineup is also so varied that I went in for one item and ended up grabbing a bunch, haha. Next time I definitely need to try the melon salt bread that was sold out 🤎
